Don’t know if anyone read the Persona article on the front page of SRK but I think that’s badass! I’ve always wanted to get into the persona games (moreso on the PSP due to the pick up and play nature) but i’ve never had the time. I think a fighting game using that universe would be awesome.
And Atlus I trust is a quality studio as well as the BLazblue team working on the fighting system. I can’t wait to read and hear more about the game. Hopefully they show something at TGS
Now I have more of an incentive to finish Persona 4.
I love Persona 4, but I’m skeptical on this being good because of how P3/P4 worked. I don’t know how other people played P4, but I didn’t find normal attacking useful for most of the game. Most of the time, I was using my Personas. Possibly, the Personas in the fighting game will end up being like Stands from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure or like the assists in Aquapazza or Vanguard Princess. I don’t know; we’ll have to see.
I probably won’t have a Vita for a while, regardless, and I don’t know about fighting games on handhelds…
If i’m thinking correctly it will probably work alittle like Pain in Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 where the persona’s are part of the combo or something like that idk. Here’s a link for reference
EDIT:
more persona pics from the fighting game
Haha, it’s styled very much like P4 was. P3 is going to feel weird. I wonder if Shoji Meguro or Daisuke Ishiwatari is going to do the music.
As for the fighting system, I guess it might end up like that. Still don’t know if it’s going to be very combo-heavy like GG and BB were. We might end up with something like Vanguard Princess, or they all might end up like how Relius is expected to turn out.
Chances are, though, that we might end up with a button solely for the Persona like how the D button is the drive button for BB.
And woah, no Vita. Guess I was thinking of the P4 remake. I’m definitely willing to give it a try, since I want to see how ArcSys approaches a franchise that isn’t BB or GG.
Me and hansel (for those who know him) played some 3SO the other day and though I’d post a few videos
edit: looks like the other ones are still being processed.
Leaning towards making wednesday nights the official UF fight night. Depending on how many good setups I can get I might do biweekly or alternate between sf one week and marvel the next. Already got commits from adam/patrick to use their setups on those days so thats 4 and the room i’m looking at might even have tvs (no idea if they’re decent or not).
Thoughts?
I can definitely provide my tv with 360 and ps3.
i can provide my system and controllers if needed sorry that i don’t have a tv though.
And wednesday nights sounds perfect at least for me since tuesday and thursdays i have lab from 3-6 and idk if i would be up to gaming after a 3 hr lab lol. But i hope wednesday nights are good for everyone else also.
WNF sounds good to me too, probably the best time during the week actually. Since Petey’s ASUS is sitting in my room I don’t think he’d mind if I provided that, plus my PS3.
I can provide a monitor and a PS3, although I can’t guarantee that it’s lagless. Shame that my last class on Wednesday ends at 7, but whatever.
I have a Hauppauge HD PVR
I can definitely do it if it’s biweekly. Won’t be bringing so much stuff next time lol
I won’t be able to do WNF because of work, but this is for the best because now i’ll be able to talk shit about how much i would’ve bodied all of you when we see one another on thurs/sat. But seriously, a big burly man spinning in circles in pretty much unstoppable. The next time i get into a fight it’s going to be my go-to move. I’ll see you all in the UFC.
Casuals tonight at my place. Anyone who can bring extra monitors/games/systems is appreciated. I posted the address a few pages back, so if you’re too lazy to go look, send me a PM and i will proceed to tell you just how lazy you are.

Hey dave i’ll more than likely be there if i get my quizes done in time. Also, I ordered this 360 hori stick and i want to try it out at ur place before the tourney on saturday if that’s cool.
I’ll be there dave. I’ll try to bring a setup if I’m not too lazy.
Phil: Some of the cheaper hori sticks aren’t great, and by aren’t great I mean the buttons can stick and break easily. Also I find that you have to press a little hard on the hori buttons which might now be that great for a beginning stick user. The more expensive hori sticks tend to be nicer but I personally prefer sanwa buttons (like on the TE). I’d recommend trying one of our TEs and maybe use Thanh’s TE since he’s going to the tourney on saturday IIRC.
O i got the Hori pad ex2 turbo. I’ve heard good things about it from the reviews on amazon. Hopefully when i get back home from lab it will be in my mailbox so i can bring it. Also anyone want to spar alittle in blazblue? If so i can either bring my copy or my system with it. I’m thinking whether or not i should enter in blazblue as well and just troll with hazama or go in w/ Jin.
Oh its a pad. Your last post said hori stick.
Good luck. Hope you solve your controller issues soon.
oops yeah pad lol and yup yup thanks! I def need a break from this busy week. Looking forward to meeting up later this afternoon.
If it wasn’t $10 a tournament, I’d enter BB and AE this Saturday but I’m only entering MvC3 and 3S Saturday. Tran and I have been playing BB a lot lately and you guys both use Noel too -_- I’m still running Litchi.
In regards to sticks, I really like TE’s the most mainly because of the sanwa buttons, the actual layout of the buttons, and comfort. I’ve played on an HRAP EX2 or whatever its called and the buttons are decent but I hate the way the buttons are layed out. And then theres the VLX one (the really big one thats like $250 or something like that) and I don’t like how little space there is for your wrist and I find the buttons to be too low for my liking. Plus, those 2 don’t sit comfortably in my lap.
