Petey speaks the truth. In normal MTG tourneys the people who spend all their income to buy the strongest decks are going to stomp you. Drafts were pretty fun though and you keep the cards even if you lose.
It’s ok…I’m free to every one of you guys online anyway. But in order for you to land king of tager on my you have to get past my cat hammer and cat missiles.
I think the last time I played MTG was with my dad when I was about ten. I was big into yu-gi-oh until I started like 8th grade, then I stopped cause I was spending way too much money on it. I feel like if I got into MTG I would probably do the exact same thing.

Yeah I’m thinking of trying draft. I like the deckbuilding element the most and draft seems like a cool format to do that. I don’t really want to play constructed it just seems like a money sink.
It was good meeting you too. If you’re anything like Phil at marvel then my goal is to walk out with my head held high and bruised and not crawl out bloody and broken (aka winning more than 10 matches out of 100) like I did this past weekend. But, it was fun and now I have some motivation to improve.
Thanks for the compliment. And like yeah all I play is marvel at the moment besides other unrelated fighting games. But yeah I’d suggest though whatever ur main team is, to like first try and find some good damaging combo’s w/ ur main team or combos that you urself know how to do like 95-100% and practice. Also, make sure ur main team has good synergy and is in the most effective order and such. And like yeah, there’s a whole bunch of stuff I could say but if u need any pointers in Marvel ask me. I think I’m quite knowledgeable in them. Also, there’s tons of youtube vids for characters such as combos and such.

Man now that I’ve got a better grasp of it, I want to give my other chars a go time permitting (specifically Ryu, e.Ryu, and Bison). Does every character (sans Yun, Makoto, rush down specific characters) have to lame him out as well?

no. in fact, most characters don’t need to lame him out because theyre better off playing a mixed/offensive game. even some standard keep away characters (guile, sagat, ryu, deejay) are better off taking some offensive risks against akuma. keep in mind jumping in beats many of akumas mid to full screen options including sweep, demon flip, and fireball. if akuma’s allowed to use these moves for free then he’s gonna P on u. i think chararacters like balrog, bison, and chun are better off laming akuma out tho.
OK, what is it going to take to get some real match experience around here!? I had Thanh invite me to a room, I play one match against the host (Not Thanh) and lost. Next thing I know, the host removes me from the room. I know I’m a pathetic player, but C’Mon!

Oh okay. I wasn’t sure what approach to take mainly because my main offense (frame trapping) can be teleported out of with impunity. Just gotta change that up a bit and make my offense more footsie oriented.
