From what I heard ATL got put out kinda early. JasonL and Jdash made it the farthest in the tourney. I forgot who they said to took it. I think it was a rufus player, but I’m not sure. They were also getting ready to run 2v2 a little while ago too.

Lobellia, there is a world of difference using Guile in training mode and using him a real match. ST Guile is a little easier than SF4 Guile. Neither of them are particularly powerful though. For Godlike Guiles, CE, WW, or HF Guile are the best. Anyway, I like ST Guile because of his mind games. He’s powerful but you still need a brain to use him. you should probably look at some of better ST Guile players:
Kurahashi (defensive, evasive style Guile)
Muktei (offensive combo-oriented Guile)
Yoshio (Balanced mixture of Muteki and Kurahashi syles, also plays Guile in SF4 and qualified for SBO)
Tsnunopi ( Hard to read his style, but looks to be influenced more by Kurahashi)
TZW (old school combo video maker, legendary Guile. Interesting offensive based style but not as solid as Muteki)
I hear you. Like I said, he appeals to me execution-wise(as several charge-type characters do), and I like his combos. I know about Guile’s real potential, and I’ll take a look at those guys you mentioned. Thanks for the directive, though. I registered on SRK, which is a Street Fighter site, and I want to find a Street Fighter game I can play and enjoy. Ideally, that would be 3rd Strike(Elena for the win), but no one plays that here, it seems.

Well keep in mind, Guile is very much an advance charge character. Unlike Blanka or E.Honda his charge move doesn’t actually move him foward. It simply fires a projectile. And if you can’t buffer your charges you’re kind of screwed as well. Thought there are a lot of age old charge tricks, all with varying degrees of practicality (though I’m not sure how many of them actually are still in SF4). Overall Guile is a very spacing dependent character, so if your opponent is not at a favorable distance from Guile he generally has issues. He’s also very rush prone, and has very few “get the fuck off me moves” if the momentum shit in the opponents favor.

TvC coming officially to the US might mean more people would play it. That’ll be good because like many others i haven’t touched that game since SF4 came out. I bought the jpn version, but if they add new things like new characters and/or online play i’d rebuy it. Hell i bought MvC2 & CvS2 multiple times.
TvC for usa release is great new for joel. I personally don’t like many team games and I never rarely play marvel type games. My old reflexes can’t play those type of games.
