You don’t attend tournaments and complaining about the streams won’t get you anywhere either.
Ga doesn’t always have shitty streams matter of fact, our tournaments recently haven’t even been streamed outside FunkyP at Tension pulse,the work we did for K.i.T in Tennessee but also keep in mind,streaming ability comes straight from our pockets and the pockets of those who “Support” our Fighting Game Tournaments, your not an attendee, you do not support the scene other then complaining so why are you here??

Wow your going to 1 tournament yet there are about 25+ tournaments throughout the year in Ga alone.

Final Round is an “Established” major and has been for quite sometime with or without you (No I am not speaking for Shinblanka with this response)
I get sick of jabroni’s posting on here “Oh I’m going to Final Round” like that is the end of it all, all the post,shit talking for months (no not you johnnydo but others) all just to come out one year, get trashed by out of towners,never showcase your skill then drift back into non-existence.
Johnnydo we cannot do anything about how ustream does there recording but we did record the tournaments and we will upload videos as soon as they can be edited etc.
That still doesn’t excuse your lack of attendance and support for the “Entire” fighting game community and not just Final Round as a tournament

Now that I’ve blown off some steam, I want to apologize. I just want GA to level up with our streaming and recording and I DO want to support the scene here, but the tourny scheduling makes it quite difficult for me to attend (in the middle of the night?* Really? Do you know how much robbing goes around at the GaTech campus at that time?* :wtf: )
Ustream is completely fucking undependable recording and capturing wise (hence why TS and other tournys have dropped them). I strongly recommend you guys switch to Justin TV.
I have a very, very basic grasp of Sony Vegas and would love to help with the editing if need be.
Dude what are you talking about none of our tournaments start in the middle of the night, almost any tournament you attend including Final Round, all 3 days will end at night, 8pm or later!!
I have a Justin.tv account but we had 2 stream setups, Magnicious has a paid account for ustream so that’s the site he chooses to use!!
We are working on this every month, the new streaming equipment required to even run a stream cost us dearly so we stuck either way, we gotta make it work!!
I was referring to FunkyP’s little GA Tech thing he has goin on. But yeah, Justin Tv is the way to go. Also I’ve noticed on the Ustream record that you guys made the mistake of recording the whole thing. Never record over one hour. Ever.
Everyone records and hour or more, it then comes down to your equipment,connection rate and sheer know how,the site plays a part in it as well,seeing as streaming has gone up in every country and everyone wants dat money.

If you insist on sticking with Ustream, then an hour should be your recording limit for each video. Period.
You see the results of what happens when you record multiple hours on one video, right?
Again, there’s a reason several tournys have dropped Ustream (Mag’s giving those fuckers MONEY? For THAT quality recording? Fuck that noise) Justin Tv is ingenious in that it splits video recordings in half if they go over a specific limit.

I know when i attend Revival(sry about being absent for this one, I posted in the results thread) I can see Magnicious puts a lot of effort into getting the stream to work. Internet in public conference centers is not accommodating as it is down at tech. I understand they have to go through a lot of technical hurdles to get that shit running. People should attend tournaments instead of complaining that a stream is not working. Streaming is a service that costs us, we don’t have to do it if it goes unappreciated.
Also GaTech at night on a Friday is the most convenient time for gatherings for the entire community. It only makes sense then, most all of us have school or jobs making any kind of midday thing impossible. Saturdays are meant for tournaments so I don’t want to encroach on those times. I’ve been doing that for over 6 months at Tech and can tell you the campus is pretty damn safe at that time of night. Hundreds of students are out and about during those hours with tons of campus security and atlanta police roaming about. We carry a bunch of expensive equipment back and forth and never run into any trouble like that.

First off the Congress Center had only a Wi-fi connection which EVERYONE in the entire conference center had access to. That day there were litterally hundreds, if not in to the thousands of people at the Congress Center potentially with access. No telling how many had Ipads, Iphones, tablet PCs, laptops, etc. were connecting to the Wifi signal. The stream’s quality was awful because of this. If you notice near the beginning of the stream the quality was up to par as referenced by Spookydonkey’s comment asking why it went down earlier yesterday. After that event started to take place that’s when the signal’s quality went God awful.
When you are in ideal places like schools, game center’s, etc. it’s much easier to run an excellent stream. Ask Shinblanka what all me and him had to go through in order to get Final Round’s stream up and working last year. Ask Jio from KIT what all we had to go through in order to get the stream up.
And as far as being scared leaving late from the Congress Center? The Georgia World Congress Center has it’s own police force that work specifically for the center so whose really about to rob you going to the parking deck? For God sakes when I was putting my equipment in the car last night the police stopped me and asked me “where are you getting those flat screens and equipment from” and made me put my hands against the wall, search me, etc. to make sure I wasn’t stealing someone else’s stuff. Those cops have nothing else to do and they work in the service of the Congress Center and that’s it. So, I would have to say the Congress Center’s police/security force would rival that of GA Tech’s.
