I came out to the Play2Win tournament last November, and to the Feburary tourney as well. Jimmy told me you guys play alot, but I don’t play very often myself because I have other things going on at the moment.
wednesday night fights started in a garage, moved into a whole house, then later moved into a smaller venue and now their current bigger venue.
here in Auburn we have a weekly friday night fighting games and drink night at our apartment (me, raph, and an sf4 player that hasn’t been to ATL tournaments with yet lives here, and another dude that doesn’t play fighting games)… it started off like 4-5 people every week back in the days of vanilla around winter 2009… now we have a good 10-12 people and sometimes people drive from Montgomery, Birmingham, Troy, and sometimes as far as Mobile to play here because bama’s scene was basically dead except for those fridays here at my apartment. We got a main tv that has Marvel 3, a second one with ssf4 or mvc2 depending on who’s in town that week or what, a ps2 setup with either GG AC or rarely CVS2, and the mame cabinet raph built that has 3s, ST, and a bunch of weird shit like tmnt tournament fighters. pretty soon we’ll be playing ah3 some too. we run a whiteboard with first to 5 challenges in the major game (right now mvc3 before it was super) and shit, we got free booze too.

If you plan to use a place, is it going to require a venue fee to allow you to hold it?

No one here plays Arcana Hearts. We’re mainly about 4, but some of us like MvC3, and there’s even a small Brawl crowd.
I literally mean my apartment in Newnan. I wouldn’t mind using it as a meet up point so we can all jam on some casuals. It’s just me and my younger brother (tails; Dudley player), so as long as everyone acts decent, I don’t see why we can’t make it work.

If I’m not mistaken, this will be the first major to feature Arcade Edition for Super Street Fighter IV! However we’ll have several games on hand: Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Mortal Kombat 9, and Super Street Fighter II Turbo. More game announcements are still tentative!

To keep a character-diverse scene, if MK9 is good and tournament worthy, who are people excited about playing? Before playing the game, I’m excited about:
Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, Reptile, Cyrax, Sektor, Sindel
Fujin, Raiden, & Kung Lao have always been my favorite (in that order). Fujin unfortunately rarely makes it into MK games, so I’ll probably just play Raiden and Kung Lao.
Just got home with my copy. I will main Ermac. Other characters I have interest in: Sektor, Stryker, Jax, Kabal, Nightwolf, Mileena.
Shit I forgot I’m stoked for Nightwolf, too. It has begun.

I’m a family man now so I dont play as competitively as I did before, but I do play and can hold my own against top level play in ssf4. Wish I could get some games in with u.
