I’m in snellville (south gwinnett), not terribly far from duluth, and shadow ace is doin a gathering in stone mnt tmr at 6. idk if its gona be a weekly thing or not though.
This week is unfortunately bad for me, but next weekk should be awesome. Funky, ill pm you if i need more info before then. And the tekken stick was honestly just what i could afford. Figure ill drive it til the wheels fall out, rip its guts out, and try my hand at a rebuild.
Aight guys for this week’s Battle & Brew tournament I got a stream page up for the SRK front page and should be streaming each tournament for whenever I’m available to do so. So for all us ATL players wanting to show off our skills to the rest of the country on a regular stream we got that running now for the B&B Biweeklies.
Also anyone know about this Buford tourney?

seems like it popped up from outta nowhere, dunno whos organizing it.
11:30AM? Whoa! Even for a Saturday, I’m not feeling that.
I just got RAPED in Garou on GGPO. ACE!!! Where the hell are you? You were supposed to teach me Terry! WTF?!?! Come back!!!
On a side note, I just got RAPED in ST on GGPO. I would still like to play people from the region in order to level up.
Yo, so the cookout was awesome. Thanks to everyone for coming out and having a blast. We will definitely be hosting one of these again.
I posted up some FT5 results on Facebook.
$15 and $15 oh hellz naw I am straight AND I don’t know who the fudge is running the tournament either
Edit: whoa how the hell you going to ONLY take off $5.00 if your going to use my system to run the tournament…man somebody needs to be slapped!!!
edit: I’ll take back what i said if it looks like these guys are making an honest effort to run a legit tourney
Wow, that tournament is literally RIGHT next to my house, AND it’s on my birthday.
I think it means they will will take off $10 with a setup, making it $5 for door.
Just checked "TrueGaming"s srk profile: join date 4/4/11. As pointed out by a few of us in here, they aren’t using standard tourney rules. Also, I’ve never seen them post in the GA thread.
Final Opinion: T.O. is most likely lacking experience, definitely lacking community ties, and could be pulling something shady. Attend this tourney at your own risk.
This my new ish:
this sounds like a bait and trap situation. If you see a piece of cheese sitting inconspicuously on a pile of leaves just run.
I mean, what is the worst that can happen? Not being sarcastic, I actually want to know, as I haven’t been jipped at a tournament before. If nothing else, could someone with experience talk to him and maybe help out/make sure things are good? If not, I could.
even so, you wouldn’t lose much. I say we go try it out, and then rag on it if it fails to meet standards and the TO refuses to change their ways.
I believe someone should find out about this. It could be a new opportunity for more tournaments.
I’ll probably be there and I am totally down to do commentary in between my matches.
And this is why the community has so much they want but so little received.
If the Tournament Organizers are not in depth with the scene as you are as a player, why should you dedicate your time, money & effort to it??
I’ve been in this for 13 years, I’ve eliminated any or all of the negative competition that has come my way.
We’ve seen this time and time again, if an organizer is showing you they don’t even care enough to keep up with the rules and standards of tournaments already in existence, in there local area or anywhere else, why would you in your right mind “Take a chance” on anything regarding them and there tournaments??
I agree. Established conventions exist for a reason: they’re reliable as all hell and it’s easier to keep the scene running like the well-oiled machine it should be when there’s a set of rules that everybody is expected to follow.
Besides the door/pot fee, what rules are they changing?
