Ined If anyone can’t tell by now, Iceman is a hype man. HeMs the drama king of Atlanta, the mouth of the south. He isnMt someone who actively compete in the rankings, but someone who brings hype, awareness, and publicity to the GA scene. This isn’t meant as a jab. Iceman is really good at organizing events, geenerating hype of matches, andd coming out with ideas. He has a good eye for tending and logisicitical things when it comes to tournaments. He has a really unique talent, it is just not in the games themselves. Had I been. Able tp play my MM with him so many years back he would have declined it more than likely. Iceman is a man with a child and family. I wouldn’t resspect a man who has responsibiity accepting $200 MM whhen he has mouths to feed. While others in the community may call that a bitch move I can respect it. He’d be a kick ass gamer but a sorry ass man. The same way I’d be a loser to do MM when I didn’t have a job. You can’t make money off of sorry ass hustles like MM people.

some advice for you Brandon…not that your asking for it but you gotta be the CHEAPEST you can be in this shit, dont worry about how people are gonna feel or what people say or think about you, beacause a win is a win. Period. No matter who you got that win. You cant be “nice” in competition, you think any top player is gonna be “nice” to you in any game? Fuck no!. There out to kill you, they wanna win, they want that money so why not do the same??

I’m not talking about honor. I’m just saying, Iceman was JUST talking shit about how he wanted to challenge Anatok for a high stake MM. He said he won’t accept anything lower than 3 digit numbers. Anatok called the bluff, challenged him to the MM, and Iceman backed out. Many could consider that a bitch move. I think it’s smart, afterall if you have mouths to feed, why throw away $200? Iceman isn’t the type of guy who is really good in any game. And definitely not good enough to do money matches. He’s good at organizing tournaments, getting people hyped, and making sure things run efficiently. As a tournament organizer, Iceman is good. Real talk. I just don’t he all that great at games. Every since I’ve watched his game, I have never seen anything that says he’s at the level he speaks about on SRK. I haven’t known Iceman for over a decade like some people have, but from what I’ve heard he’s never been at the level to touch ATL finest. He’s always been mediocore at best. And that’s fine. I mean this guy comes on here and say fairytales about things that never happened. 20 game win streams at Underground, raping me and my friend at EP, having the third best Cable in the state, the list goes on. but hey saying those things generate hype. If I am the Rick Flair of this scene, he’s certainly the Vince McMahon. Iceman has a strong business ethic, but when it comes to game, he’s just not there. But I respect what he does, just not what he says. Moving on…
As far as honor is concerned. Well I play dirtier in Marvel than I do in SF. I’m one of those guys who has played SF since the very beginning. I still have an OG mentality when it comes to the game. I’m still more focused on spacing and punishment, positional advantages, running down the block than big combos and fancy mixups. I mean I love the days when punishment meant someone lost their lives. I love a game of low risk. Maybe this is why I like old school ST, because doing dumb shit got you killed. I complain about SSFIV because dumb shit can be taxed, it’s just harder to do, and you’ll net 200 pt off someones lifebar on a good punishment if you can catch them doing something stupid. I liked the mental game of not wanting to fuck up, having to block, and having to respect situatons and pressure because not doing so got you killed within seconds. I hate damage scaling, throw breaking, bullshit super moves and all of that. But I still try to play SSFIV my way, and part of the reasons I still play this game is to figure out how to counter all of the dumb shit people think is so godlike.
But if you want to see dirty, wait until MVC3 comes out. I’m going to be so dishonorable in that game, people will boo me for my lameness.

Well, it doesn’t always take cash to make a match serious or tense. I’m about 95% of the time serious whenever I play SSF4 in general. Be it casuals, tournament, or even the rare money matches I do I’m dead serious because I at least owe that much to my opponent. It’s ok to get paid but it should be more about honor, respect, and improving…but that’s just me because I have a ton of self-pride:china:

The first date is 2/17. These are only suppose to be SSF4. I’m going to try and see if I can get a station for MVC3 up there. I don’t think there will be a tournament though. The owner is wanting to do MVC3 on different days(still Thursday) and probably just monthly. What do you guys want? Keep in mind we do have a time constraint since it starts late.

Nah it’s cool. Me and MPR know each other pretty well. It was just some harmless shit talk. He didn’t mean a word of it, Saying his defense is better than mine and stuff. He knows it isn’t true. and he knows he’s pretty free in MVC3 as well. But he was just having fun talking shit. That’s what gaming is about. Talking shit on the internet and getting bodied at a tournament.
As far as Anatok is concerned. I don’t think he’s making a huge deal of things. I don’t think he likes the way he was addressed by Iceman (and who would). He did the right thing by stepping up to a MM. I was saying that I don’t believe Iceman prides his competitive MVC2 skills (at least not now). Anatok will MM you though, he has a good work ethic when it comes to gaming and taking challenges. He’ll MM you even if he knows he’ll lose. I can respect him, because his main goal is getting better.
