They were going to leave in the gameplay-acceptable glitches though, like Jugg’s powerup-glitch and Sent’s unblockable and FFs.
I’m sticking with the DC version anyway, so it doesn’t affect me, but if what you say is true, they took it out to ensure they wouldn’t be used for online play.
Otherwise kinda pointless; we Ruby users never use that glitch, and the Gambit one is banned in competitive play too.
I read it on “It’s Official MVC2 is back with online play” on FGD. I was mentioned somewhere in that thread. I would look it up, but that thread is pretty long.
Both are pretty hard to setup. Especially Ruby’s. I’m pretty sure they won’t allow some Dreamcast specific glitches either like being able to fight with two characters. Although I think that was the Japanese version of Dreamcast, not sure if it worked in the American version.
Anyway, no need to really have the Gambit glitch or the Ruby one anyway. That would be like keeping Guile’s statue, invisible throw, and handcuff glitch in SFWW (not that the game is even playable anymore).
Yeah, that’s another reason they’re not used - practicability.
A more relevant reason would be that…who the hell plays Ruby and Gambit in competitive MvC2, anyway?

I forgot it comes with a few games and snes & nes emu discs as well so since there is no shipping it actually is a good deal. I think I still have a couple of those 6ft DC controller wire extenders too. I’ll throw it all in fuck it.

Regarding Gambit, I know that Joe Zaza either used him or uses him. I’m a Megaman player myself, but I’m nowhere near competitive level in that game.
