EX3 is actually a very good game. Nobody ever took the chance to play it. Yeah, it looks like shit. Yeah, its not very popular. But it is a very solid game. Everyone here hates it out of tradition, not out of experience. So yeah…stop bashing a game that you’ve heard is shit but not actually spent any time with.

bad charaters, awful music, combo aspect of the game is horrible, tag team??? bro that game was horrible. i played all 3 so believe me when i say that game was far from solid.
Actually Ex3 was the first PS2 game i ever got. I played it a hell of a lot. After playing good games like CvS2 i didnt have fun playing EX3 anymore. I realised how bad it was. So i store credited it. Lol! I played it at my buddy Ote’s house a month or so ago for kicks and we laughed at how bad it is. Yeah back in the day it was ok at best, but you cant seriously say its good now.
SFEX had some of my favorite characters ever. Skullomania will always be my fav SF character.
The soundtrack had some great musicians on it, a few solid compositions.
The combo system is a lot like CVS’s. At least thats what it feels like to me. I don’t see anything about it that makes it horrible. What makes it horrible?
And a lot of ideas from SF4 came from the EX series. The attack part of the focus attack came straight from EX.
And I am officially done conversating about EX3. I love the game. If you talk shit about it you go on my mental blacklist lol.

I personally feel its way better than CVS2, but then again thats very biased since I hate CVS2. But I still feel its a great game. There are only a few of us who feel that way, which is a shame because the game has a lot to offer.
This game is one of my guilty pleasures. I know it looks like shit. Its one of the worst looking fighters I’ve ever seen. But the game itself is solid. Most people have trouble getting past the looks.
But I seriously love the game. Go to the EX3 section of the SRK wiki. I’ve written absolutely everything on there. That shows how much I enjoy the game. So please leave it out of conversation. Listen to Eddie, it isn’t popular here. Don’t bring it up.
Oh, and I am NOT saying its better than SF4. It doesn’t really compare. Only 3 SF games compare to SF4(ST,A2,A3 IMO)

No-one around that hates it has really played it, and if you did, you didn’t play long. And no doubt many went into the game already expecting it to be bad. In that case, no matter how good the game is, if you want to hate it, you will. Simple as that.
Yeah I can. And also comparing CvS2 to EX3 is just saying you prefer CvS2’s defense oriented system more compared to EX3’s, which is far more open ended.
Mike is right, the graphics are not very good, but who cares? If that’s making up a bulk of your argument, its kinda sad. Shinji Hosoe’s soundtrack in those games was nothing of short of excellent, but I guess people have their opinions. Don’t like the super/combo focused system? Fine, but that doesn’t make it bad. Don’t like tag team? fine, play EX2 or EX. And if you don’t like Akira’s created characters, there are still plenty of ones from other SF’s to choose from.
I’m seeing a deplorable trend here, where people are just being followers to a general opinion instead of actually being individuals and experiencing the game themselves.
But that’s all I’ll say on it, since I don’t want to start anything bad, and its obvious no-one really knows the game anyway.
Yeah someone got it to work with almost no lag on PCXS2 emulator. The other problem was that the game is not even 2.6 it is 2.5. This release is pretty much a fiasco! Well I’ve heard that the Japanese were raging on 2ch, so we’ll just have to wait and see if there will be an updated release. Hopefully they’ll just put the game on PS3 which they should have in the first place.

i absolutely loved the ex+alpha combo trials, and i wished SF4 had an such an extensive trial mode
the other 2 EX games were fun at the time, they both have the basic sf formula, with some interesting aspects added from the other series out at the time (custom combos like A2, tag combos like Tekken Tag)
From a gameplay perspective, the EX series had just about everything in any other SF series, the only downfall was the horrible graphics/animations. (music definitely top notch)
i’d play them casually for fun now, but its just one of those games that was decent, but came out at the same time as the alpha and versus series, limiting its following

SRK doesn’t take EX3 seriously? No shit. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t people who really enjoy the game and discuss it. I’ve seen a small following for just about ANY obscure-ass fighter here.
How is SF4 a “step forward” gameplay-wise?
In fact, can anyone tell me GAMEPLAY-WISE what they love so much about SF4…avoiding mentioning the graphics, animation, music, presentation, designs, etc.?
Now I’m not trying to SF4 is a bad game, or not worth playing (even though I don’t personally like it), but SF4 actually took quite a few gameplay elements from the EX series that people don’t even realize it because they never REALLY played it (playing it by yourself of your idiot scrub friends for a week when it first came out doesn’t count).
To me, SF4 is just a stripped down version of EX3 mashed with a dumbed-down version 3rd Strike with SF2’s roster and non-shitty graphics.

I love Street Fighter EX3. That game is the shit. Unfortunately, I can’t really be an active part of its community because you’re there. No game is worth dealing with you, not even one of my favorite fighters ever.
It’s not a step forward. It’s a step to the side, just like Street Fighter III was and is.
I like Chun-Li’s playstyle, and I like the fact that Street Fighter IV takes some of my favorite mechanics from the series and combines them(EX moves, the Surprise Attack system from Street Fighter EX3 modified slightly, et cetera).
