About TVC. I don’t really play the game, but after watching a lot of casuals for the game, it appears that the game is broken. More so than Marvel. Basically Karas has priority, range, and an unbeatable rushdown. It appears that his lockdown is unbeatable. He is essentially Magneto and Sentnel rolled into 1. Sorry, marvel isn’t broken to the level where one strategy that is simple can beat anything someone can do.
Magneto has a retarded rushdown but he can be zone. And while he’s hard to hit, it’s not impossible to do so. Plus there are random low tiers that get around his bullshit. Sentinal, Cable, and Storm are all broken too. But you have to play really well not to get fucked up. Sentinel requires good excution and the ability to zone, Storm requires spacing, baiting and good execution. Cable requires on the fly trapping and good reaction time. It still takes time and patience to be good at Marvel at high levels. there are also a lot of universal techniques like rush blocking, super jump cancelling your push blocks and normals, and guard breaks. plus Marvel is a lot about spacing.
From what I can tell TVC is a throwback to XvSF where it’s essential to be up in someones grill the entire match. And one touch can mean indefinite loss of control f the match. Marvel addressed a lot of those issues in previous versus games. But a lot of them have reintrduced itself in TVC apparently.
Also Alpha 3 is definitely not broken because of the VCs. Crouch cancels are the biggest issue which can lead to unblockables. V-Akuma who is top in that game if you play smart and play good footsies and also keep track of his meter and yours as well. O. Sagat is beatable because he can be counter picked. And good spacing and patience is the key.
Karas is like Young Geese in KOF Neowave. He has too many tools which put him above the rest of the cast. He doesn’t look beatable.
TVC is dying because it’s on the Wii. It doesn’t appear there is much more to be explored in this game. And that’s fine if there was some level of dynamics at high level, but every match is just Karas rusing that shit down against some hapless opponent. If consoles were an issue marvel wouldn’t be played. It’s ultra rare on a system that has been dead since 2001. Still it’s played.
Crouch cancels don’t lead to any unblockables in Alpha 3. They lead to a few infinites, but those are ridiculously hard to use to actually KO an opponentseeing as you only have one frame to pull it off, and if you miss that one frame your opponent will fall). They are more used for building back meter after a V-Ism combo.
The unblockables do exist in alpha 3, but most are corner only and very situational. And a good number of them can be Alpha countered before the actual unblockable occurs(such as with Blankas or Charlies unblockable, which they hit you with like 4 crouching attacks and then jump to do an overhead while the v-ism shadow is still hitting low). You can also Alpha counter Akuma’s unblockable, but it will still result in being hit. Akuma is godlike in Alpha 3.
More people need to play Alpha 3…its my favorite game

Alpha 3 is my favorite game lol. I won’t be able to be at Waba this weekend, due to the fact that I am in Cali till Sunday. However, next time we are at a tourney together I am always more than willing to play Alpha 3, and I usually have a copy with me.
I have a question for the ATL community. If I opened an arcade would you guy’s really support my efforts? I’m currently looking for places inside the perimeter right now, but the price and size needs to match up. So what do ya’ll think.
