If its 20 minutes away from you, should show up 100% no matter what games they run.
Room rates are $119 for our event ask for GPX / GAMME / GEX or GXP.
We are going to be posting the full schedule up very soon for the entire event, our tourney schedules are starting 10AM friday which will allow the competitors time to get the bulk tournaments out of the way and be able to enjoy most of the expo throughout the weekend.
Any “Preregistered” Guest gets the full perks of Pre-Reg - the only difference between a “Pre-Reg” and a “Walk UP” is simply the walk up folks have longer wait times, are not registered for tournaments and cannot benefit from VIP Access.
We have normal badges that have pre-reg perks and we have the VIP badges which allow for access to specialty events, like the music festival outside the dinners, and the open bar events. I just recently asked Jeff, our Tournament Operations Head to help us work on the site because we let go our old webmaster who fell off the face of the earth and left our site unfinished - we are working to get this done asap so all the information will be more available - we have a beta site up for the website that is listed in the OP but here it is again
so you can get more information that is already coded onto the site.
Thank you supporting GAMME!
CVS2 was updated to the list recently - we are working on getting a few cabinets for it for our Arcade dept. to run Pot tourneys for it. So you will be very happy as will the old school players that will already be there who are godlike at the game.
Hope that answers your question.
to reiterate for the community in general, while other events focus primarily on what is mainstream, the goal of our event is to mainstay history with progress…
We will showcase the old school with the new school - its a lot to do under one roof but with the community together on this, we’ll make it tradition.
i was just thinking of going and spectating cause none of the current games really interest me…i’m a cvs2 and a3 player…=/
but if cvs2 isn’t there i guess i could help out and lend my ps3 for t6 and sf4.
Let me point you in the direction of ourwebsite - we have a huge catalog of games that gets updated all the time, in fact I have to update it today lol. All the games you want to play we already have and we showcase them at events all over the country. Tournament wise is a different scenario, as it is dependant on community what games will play and wont, or how strong the promotion of a title is given in a community. We try to focus on a lot of them.
But you will definitely be able to play CvS2, A1-3 on Saturns, even SF EX at our show, some of the classics we will have on cabinets - CvS2, MvC2, Alpha1-3, KOF (too many of them lol) SVC Chaos (Roman, one of our guys was one of the best in East Coast back in the day at this so this is more for him).
and a lot of Vs City candy cabs for enjoyment. While those are not necessarily listed as tourneys (yet) we will be hosting a ton of those. its hard to marquee all of it in one roof, eventually you have to decide what can and cannot be held lol.
we have already been planning for 2011 and 2012 to lengthen the event to 4-5 days (1 day being a registration day with some after parties at night events and the Players Club open early) 4 days for events and tourneys.
To address everything we want to accomplish in a normal weekend. This year we’re putting a lot of effort in this particular show the way we do for everyone elses events.
Some of the hopeful scenarios we will have for 2011 is to do the same with the Korean players and focus on Tekken and VF5R or its next incarnation. and slowly each year build on the hype and add to it by focusing on another title while maintaining the attention to the games we already focus on.
Hopefully that answers your question…hahaha I just realized i went into a long rant lol.
wow, you guys are amazing. this is what florida could’ve needed to be one of the hotspots for out of state players to travel to (like NY, cali and TX). just wish you guys were around when i was really active in the tourney scene =)
anyway if i show up you can count on me bringing my ps3 with t6/sf4 if you need any extras.
We will have a space setup for outside equipment, community is always welcome to bring their equipment.
just finished talking with Keits about items for the show, always a pleasure talking with him.
Anime & SF!? I’ll definitely see about this.
Get UMK3 there!
Shouldnt be a side tourney!
I may try to make my way to this event.
Getting HyPed! Me and the Fellas will be there to collect!
How are you going to get VF5R when sega won’t allow the arcade version to be exported?
This loooks crazy. too bad I can’t travel beyond jersey, nyc, de and va.
You ain’t comin’… stop it with old jedi mind tricks.
Theres a vendor bud of mine in California that runs a PuriKura Cafe in San Diego and LA, he is helping us out with a lot of machines, problem is for VF5R its quite expensive, and Sega has no control of the machines out of Europe.
Problem again is, is it worth it for this market, we will have to wait and see.
I would be one of the main advocates for 5R, but I see the futility in going so far to put it out there…
I would be a big advocate in you bringing over vf5r to the states in arcade form. Hell if you do manage to get it I will beg you to bring it to Summer Jam cause I know people will show up to play it.
If we get it, it would be for touring to rent it, since the cost to get it at the moment is ridiculously high, its a capital use price for commercial sale, so I am looking at a deal to have 2 on consignment for 6 months. I won’t have real details until February and I don’t want to get everyones hopes up for nothing.
EDIT: Big E can have whatever I have…so of course if that became a reality and he wants to use it - of course.
Promoting in Philly, NYC and Florida this weekend. I hope to see a lot of players at one of these events. I will be at 3 of the 4 ^^
sorry haven’t read this in a while. was IIDX gonna be there with a guaranteed pot?
We have not based a gauranteed pot on IIDX for this year, that will be a normal pot tournament. If this becomes huge this year we will get a sponsor for another bonus for it in 2011 and in the next set of events.
