To me, Deep House is best listened to late at night between 2 and 4 am. Love house music.

Normally I’m not into the deep house… I mean I like it, but I prefer it dirty and funky.
This shit is sexy as hell, though… it’ll make a good commute mix, after a long ass day or whatnot.
Also, it makes me wanna sit in a lounge on a plush ass sofa, with a martini and some beezies (the legs for days, nice tan kind) on both arms.
Cheers for listening and the endorsement.
As for the question…I think there are tracks that straddle genres (including between deep house and techno) that no doubt complicate the distinction.
That said, I’d agree with Zulu on Jeff Mills being an example of techno. Others I’d include are John Tejada, Ritchie Hawtin, labels like Novamute, D-JAX.
Some artists who produce deep house are Moodymann, Theo Parish, Boo Williams, Kevin Yost. Another example would be that track I scratch over near the start of my mix. Hope that helps.
Really good funky house mix.
A dope remix of Bulletproof by La Roux
And some funky dubstep

And can someone reccomend me some deep house on the lines of Blue Six? I want something really moody and…well…deep. Lots of heavyness.
Try the Naked Music (label). They tend to release tracks with vocal and percussive elements that to me sound similar to Blue Six.
i figure this is the best thread to ask if any of you techno/house heads attend burning man?
what exatly is burning man?
Outdoor festival type thing. Music, art, hippies, etc.
I haven’t been there myself though.
a place where u dont see deodorant for days.
Funkyhouse music lovers arent exactly the outdoor camping type (in England anyway). I cant find enough info on the type of music they play. Its seems to be more indy rock music somewhat similar to Glastonbury than a House/Techno rave.

I was wondering if anyone listen to Cafe del Mar? If so, what tracks do you dig? Or is this the wrong genre?
I have a few Cafe Del Mar albums checks iTunes
Or at least I thought I did…I swear I had some. Anyway, they’re house (more funky and tribal for my liking) and for the most part, they’re pretty good.
