I love this move. The massive impact and animation. I don’t main Ibuki but I love trying this super when I play her (I do understand it’s not her best super.) Are there any sneaky ways to get one of these off on somebody?
Someone online did LK MK Target combo, SA2 on me.
Looked fancy enough as I wasn’t expecting that kind of confirm. Not the grab of course but the secondary giant bomb version. Not the best utility to use it that way but that’s not what you’re looking for.
Close HK launch reset mixups maybe? For the Full Animation grab version. Place it in there as they land when they are expecting other mixups.
Thanks!
I found a video that shows 2 ways to land it.
Sort of goes with what we talked about in another thread with blocked slow moving moves used to fake into super. Love it.
slide poke whif on their wakeup -> super
slide under their poke -> super
back mp hp -> command dash -> super
empty jump -> super
whif grab-> super
whif uoh-> super
jump hp -> super
launcher -> some reset -> super or tick -> command dash -> super
parry a close poke into it
jump/crossup mk -> delay -> super
c.lk -> command dash -> super
parry their jumpin close to the ground -> super
Let’s get married?
This doesn’t seem practical, but it looks nice… 2:26
That really does look cool. I have to admit if someone did that to me in a match I’d be sitting in a huge pile of wtf.Gunna try it out. The conditions don’t seem crazy, it’s like I reject your jump in and in return give you a super to the gut. Gunna figure out the conditions. Thanks!
man I dont even know if that is possible, this is one of those dumb assist vids.
exactly why i said it doesn’t seem practical…
lol, oh shit, I didnt even read your post, just saw the vid.
honestly though shes so much better with sa1, its just not worth it
When they’re close to dizzy, any target combo with fierce punch finish into taunt, making them dizzy.
After landing from taunt, immediate command dash (short or forward, it’s character dependent) into super-charged Yoroi. PROFIT.
A few immediate ones that come to mind that work on most characters (especially Necro because of the lenient timing) would be stuff like this:
close HK, b.MP xx HP, LP (yes, it’s a link), taunt, SA2
b.MP xx HP (as an anti-air), LP xx command dash (short version; delay for super), SA2
close HK xx SJC (delay timing), HP xx MK, normal dash, crouch (delay timing so that you cross under), SA2; this setup would be an ambiguous 50/50 cross-under leading into super. The opponent only has one frame to react to both the SA2 setup AND the cross under setup. Doesn’t work on Chun, Q, Alex though. Early crouch timing versus Hugo.
MK (as an anti-air) xx command dash (roundhouse version), crouch, SA2; it’s another cross-under setup, but this one actually works on Alex and Chun. Doesn’t work on Hugo and Q, however.
close HK, c.HP xx SJC, SA2; works like an empty jump reset. Option select parry during the sjc and you should be fine.
There’s also a Chun-Li specific one if you want cool points, but the application of the low short can be used as an alternative mix-up game solution against her since Ibuki has far less tools in that match up:
close HK, c.LK (works like a reset), taunt, SA2
These setups are practical and tournament viable (outside of the chun one since Chun can just c.lp the taunt on reaction). I don’t recommend these if you have shitty execution and don’t know how to properly condition with Ibuki to catch a good player off guard.
