Somebody here has to start writing up the Decapre Juri match up knowledge.
I cant add anything cuz I have to wait till July for Ultra to be released on PC. I don’t have an xbox/ps3.

So far my favorite thing about the Hugo match up BESIDES zoning him like an even bigger zangief, is that when he has a bar, and you have ultra, throw a fuhajin to bait his EX rush from 3/4 or full screen and land U2 on reaction. It’s so good.

vs Hugo: do not jump, ever. Don’t even use airborn normals. That anti-air grab is ridiculous. He has tons of armor, ex lariat moves really fast, and ex meat squasher has a large grab range. You can still zone the crap out of him though. High and low fireballs. Mid fireballs miss him when he crouches, but high ones can hit his head when he is crouching if you’re close enough. Ex mid is obviously good too.

vs Decapre: just neutral jump if she scrambles, hk will get her if she comes at you. Obviously don’t do this if she has U2 ready to go. Her canon strikes are pretty good, especially ex. Between air grab and air spiral arrow I haven’t had good luck going air-to-air with her. U1 is bigger than Dhalsim’s so it’s harder to jump or dive kick over it. Counter forward may be an option if you’re not too low on life to take a single hit. Mid fireballs control the airspace she likes to be in pretty well, but she can slide under them.

This is all based on about 5 hours of XBL play, so keep that in mind…

Yeah. That makes sense with the fireballs cause mid is flagged to not hit crouchers but they didn’t think it was necessary with hk. Cody can f+hk through his head too. It’s pretty funny.

So how does Juri deal with T.Hawk in Ultra? I played a rather long session the other night, and among the folks playing was a gdlk T.hawk. Juri’s medium buttons put in work against him, but I found that trying to zone him out is more difficult than ever, and putting pressure on him is risky at best thanks to the threat of SPD…not to mention that a fully loaded U1 from him kills Juri if she’s at around half health or less.

So, what can she really do against him? The best I could come up with was playing footsies at her max range, and fishing for whiff punishes.

Yeah, keep an hk fireball stored and zone the shit out of him. Like @TheKingOfParody said, watch out for EX dive till you have ultra. I like to throw HK fireballs randomly when he has meter to get them to burn it trying to get in.

I don’t think any of T.Hawk’s Ultra changes made any difference to the matchup besides his walk speed. If he neutral jumps, you do too, and if he dives, come down on top of him with HK. Or you know, just block and punish. Far MK to keep him out. All fireballs are good. He eats instant j.MP setups all day if you get in close. If he jumps at you from close up you should be able to dash forward and get under him.

I think Rose is giving me the most trouble lately. Any general tips? I usually try to play as patient as I can and push her to the corner.

Her c.mp is the bane of my existence, that and properly spaced slides/spirals. If they’re not point blank can you punish or at least interrupt? Or do you risk eating a poke/throw l/ex spiral yourself?

I’ve had Cl.mk thrown out of but I’m not sure exactly how to use it properly.

Zone the bitch. Dive kick her attempts to absorb fireballs or throw them back at you. Or you make her come to you if you know she wants meter by keeping fireballs to yourself. Try to avoid playing footsies with her. I think her fireball recovery was buffed, I’m not sure of all her buffs besides damage and ex spiral which got a compensation nerf. Safe jump os throw now, if you confirm dwu just throw her still. I personally let her backdash to the corner

Was her recovery buffed? Thought it was just the startup on…medium and heavy. 2 frames off each?

I dont know about Ultra, but in 2012 you can low profile a spiral w/ cr.lk or cr.mk even after its cancelled into from her mp from the right ranges.I dont remember if it works for ex sipral. If you stuff it w/ cr.lk, you can link a medium attack into pinwheel. I always just waited for the spiral or anticipated the mp mash w/ a low divekick

Just a tip for trying to anti air dive kicks, fs.mk actually works really great and is really helpful if you are trying to anti air online. You can do it fairly late and the first hit of it will hit. The damage isn’t fantastic but its super reliable. Works great against yun/yang as long as the dive kick isn’t too high.

I agree with the rose difficulty, it seems she reigns supreme in that close to almost close space range where all my normals seem to just get beat. ALthough someone i find more annoying right now is fucking Vega which doesnt surprise me since he got nothing but buffs as far as i know. His normals range is crazy and throwing fireballs isnt super safe while he has meter.
