any 3S gatherings around here? i live in Fort Worth and pretty much NO ONE plays over here. in fact, the friends i used to spar with don’t play the game anymore and i completely beat their asses now… all they play is SFIV, and sadly they’re not really any better at it than i am (and i haven’t even bought the damn game).

I wonder what would happen if Grapevine Mills Gameworks ever got import games like SF4, VF5:R, BlazBlue, T6:BR, Melty Blood, and Arcana Heart 2? Maybe then we would have a scene like Houston or Austin.

Grapevine Mills has always been notorious for having scrubs play there, as well as guys who think they’re hot shit raping noobs.

I don’t think anything would make a difference. I imagine gameworks makes a majority of their money on random walk in people. So getting a specific game so to speak wouldn’t really change much. great players really wouldn’t get out there too often due to distance and schedules probably, and I imagine die hards won’t stay too long paying high prices playing not good comp.

I’m a total scrub just getting back into the fighting game scene after my teen years. It really is a shame Fort Worth has such a small group of players.
It would be nice to see that change, give me something else to do.
I live in SW Arlington and I have one friend that plays SFIV, I know no one else that plays, I see that some of you are talking about different location that play often. How do I get more information on these places? My friend and I are of average to above average skill and we really want to get better. That being said its really hard to get better just playing each other. So if someone could pm times and dates that we would be welcome to join I would greatly appreciate it. Its good to know that there are other SFIV players in the area.

What time does everything start? by “average to above average” I just meant that we aren’t total newbs at the game, believe me there is a lot of room for improvement.
9-ish to 9:30 to get warm-ups and casuals, before the ranbat tournaments. $3 entry fee for a 2-month pot that’s $300.
Hey, still do these meets? A friend and I have been trying (and by trying I mean just now starting to try) to find some other people to play against in the area. We’re both decent, but still improving, and I’d think it would help to play against people who actually know what they’re doing.
If you can make it to Plano on Fridays, its totally worth it. I drove an hour from SW Arlington last week and the level of play there was astounding. There are a lot of great players that play there.
Yeah, I’ll definitely try to make it to one of those meets sometime as well. Just gotta work on my game a bit more before wasting everyone’s time, hahah.
