Here’s the jig:

The two sets of toggle clamps are for holding the front/back and side pieces in place.

Set up with a front/back piece:

For the sides I use a .01 shim (from a rockler router table jointer shim set).
It goes between the jig and the outside face of the sides to bring the mortise a bit towards the outside. This way, the front and back hang over a bit for trimming (I’ll go into more detail on this with my two player build).

Everything is referenced off of center lines. The jig has a center line in the opening that I align with marks I made on the work pieces.

Once it’s set up for each operation I run through all the parts that need that particular setup. It goes pretty quick.

Really nice work, very slick, and clean. You have any good links to tutorials on doing joinery like that?

The concept of loose tenons is pretty much the same all around; the magic lies in whatever jig you design for it. Once I decided on that type of joinery for my cases I sketched out a jig keeping in mind how the pieces would be routed and making changes as needed. At first the blocks the toggle clamps were on were in the way so I had to move them a bit.

Well this Wide-Body design looks amazing, very professional! Been looking to upgrade for a few months as I have a 6 button custom case that is 12.5" wide, and has felt a bit to cramped since playing on TE’s.

After reading thru this, a few questions/things to confirm:

• What material is used on the bottom of the cases?
• Can .PSD file you just posted be used for bottom artwork overall dimensions?
• The Wide-Body case takes screw-in Sanwa/Seimitsu pushbuttons?
• The Brass threaded inserts, are they a standard option?

sorry but one more question! What is the standard dimension for your Wide-Body case? I came across these two posts and they seem to show a different size.

Two cases finished a few days ago:
The buyer wanted them to be TE sized, one out of maple, the other out of cherry. He wanted a 6 button plexi with 8 button panels. They also include a new option: brass threaded inserts.
Also, these cases are slimmer than usual; just under 2" tall. I like the way they came out so I’m making a slim case for personal use.

• Can .PSD file you just posted be used for bottom artwork overall dimensions? Yep.
• The Wide-Body case takes screw-in Sanwa/Seimitsu pushbuttons? Screw-in or Snap-in work great.
• The Brass threaded inserts, are they a standard option? Yep. All my cases come with threaded inserts.

sorry but one more question! What is the standard dimension for your Wide-Body case?*** 18" Long x 9" Wide x 2 1/4" Tall without the rubber feet, 2 1/2" Tall with the rubber feet (also included with my cases).***

In the top pic that was a custom case (not standard dimensions). The Bottom pic is closer to the current WIde Body SimpleCases, though I use 6 supports now instead of 4, and the rear button layout has changed to this:
