Selling my baby off since I’m still paying for the transmission that just broke. I guess it’s just the end of the line. If my career were more established and I had another car, I’d convert this thing to a manual 6speed instead of selling it. So I’m going to give someone else the opportunity to have this as a project car. This car still turned heads everywhere I went, so once you get it up and running again, it’ll do the same for you.
Since it’s a car, obviously it’d be a local sale, cash only. I’m in Atlanta, GA. Will also deal with anyone in the nearby states. You’ll have to take care of towing it as well. Any questions, PM me or email: cgthrowaway@gmail.com
Couple pics here, there’s also a link near the top of the post for a full album.
Probably the worst. I’m encouraging any potential buyer to snag this and get a real (read, manual) transmission installed in it. You’ll have a good car for life, the engine is fucking rock solid.
How much does a 3rd gen TL auto tranny cost for parts & labor? My poor Mom’s car keeps crapping out on her so I’m looking for another ride for her. Nice, car GLWS regardless! Any other issues with it? I noticed your photo album shows pics of the front bumper & headlights damaged. Can you go into detail before I make a final decision? Thanks!
A completely rebuilt CL-S automatic transmission will run you at least $3k in parts and labor. Other issues, none mechanically, just some cosmetic blemishes. Quite a few dents line the sides of the car, most from a windstorm up in my homestate a few years ago. The others, haters from high school. Nothing a little paintless dent removal wouldn’t fix. It’s been in a couple accidents under my watch, most recently almost two years ago when a woman ran into me head-on while having a seizure. No frame damage, was all covered under insurance.
I agree, if you go into this sale knowing there are tranny problems, then it might be worth buying so you can fix it. Yes, tranny’s are hella expensive but if you just pony up the money with a reputable company AND add an extended warranty, you’ll be good to go for a LONG time. Honda engines are great and reliable workhorses.
Good luck.
PS- As you deal with people trying to buy, always keep in mind that you don’t wanna marry them after the sale. What I mean is that you don’t wanna be hounded on the phone constantly after the sale.
