if u run tekken then people will come just for tekken so u might not wanna have it
Word.
IMO, unless you have access to all those PS3s, we’re probably gonna have to use 360s and borrow sticks. I don’t really care, but it would be nice if we were able to have at least one of each system for both BB and SFIV just in case there’s one problem person who’s really anal. I just want to use a TE, aside from that, it doesn’t matter to me.
Then again, Chicago is mostly a 360 place, so I think it’ll be easier to aquire those as opposed to the other systems.
I think Ps3 would probably be easier actually I don’t know why exactly but it seems lots of people have and bring more of them to things like MCM tourneys than 360, and its easier for sticks and most pad users I believe. i can bring a ps3 if need be.
also ill just throw this out there street fighter 4 has a good chance of being the biggest game there and having the most people who only enter the one game. So I would think running it first and getting it out of the way would be best, or maybe last so people don’t come till after other tourneys are mostly done. just thinking of possible space/time issues.
Well as far as time is concerned I think we will just try to run most stuff at the same time instead of waiting for one to end. Espessially with a game like SFIV, waiting for it to finish to start other games would be kinda dumb. Running everything at once is best because it most efficiently uses the time we have. Even if theres issues of having to wait for a player to finish playing one game, its still going to save more time calling another match or possibly having to delay a setup use for like 5 mins as opposed to just delaying the whole tournament to a later time.
Last year we ran everything mostly at the same time and it worked out just fine.
As far as consoles go, I think having SFIV on 360 would be a good idea and having BB on PS3 would be good. SFIV is the biggest tournament between the 2 and if more people in Chicago have 360s then it makes sense. BB will still be big but we can easily get enough PS3s for it. I have a PS3 and will bring mine and I know other people who do as well.
GG is no problem cuz its PS2
Marvel can be on whatever we have more of but I probably should finalize the console before hand so people dont show up confused and bitch about it. I would say marvel on 360 would be fine since we will have more of them and honestly we probably wont need more than 1 or 2 marvel setups
if we do TvC thats all Wii and ill let Keits and my brother handle that
Melty is PS2 but wont need more than 1 or 2 setups.
how does that sound?
I think alot of the good players have 360 but at least as far as suburbs are concerned i think ps3 is by a decent margin more popular, i think if you run it on 360 there may be a shortage of sanwa sticks for it, I remember having to borrow a hori stick to play sf4 at mwc, and at MCM’s i see hori sticks with the 360 setups. I also see around a 3 to 1 ratio of ps3 to 360’s at the store at mcm . It doesn’t matter much to me since i have a 360 stick aswell, but i believe there are more ps3s and ps3 sticks out there.
But then again you are running all the tournaments at once so there may not be quite enough ps3s for bb and sf4, but if there are, i think all ps3 would be ideal.
But Talk with people about it or have a vote or have a list of volunteers for each console or something and find out for sure which would be best, I’m just callin’ it as i see it.
Keep in mind, too many systems is better than not enough.
I can bring a MBAA setup.
I don’t know where the hell my Accent Core is, so I can’t bring that unless I find it before then.
Also, if you need some TVs I have some I can bring out.
I should be able to bring a full set up for ps3 with sf4, HDR and marvel on it. Nice sony crt too
Yeah I think with enough donations worrying about what system for what is a bit of a moot point. Provided my sched doesn’t go crazy I’ll def be coming and bringing a system and I’m sure a sufficient ammount of people will do the same.
i can bring a ps2 and guilty gear.
im glad to see everyone willing to help out. Last year I gave a discount on registration fee to those people who brought equipment and I will most likely be doing that again. Since we are at a different venue this time, I am still in the process of working out details on registration/entry fee but I should have that information posted soon.
Anyone who can bring any equipment, please do. If we have more than enough systems, we can even have some going for casuals so its in everyones benefit to bring something if it isnt too much trouble for them.
I should have the official thread for this event up soon
I can pack my car full of stuff:
PS3
PS2
Wii
SFIV, KOFXII (ha - like anyone plays that game), T6, MBAA (maybe), GGXAC, TvC, and my PS3 has T5DR, SF2HDR, MvC2
dont really want to just spam this thread with what i can bring, but i have both a 360 and a ps3 with sf4, hdr, and marvel. and a wii with tvc.
soo whatever you need, i got it.
Mike - What about TVs, are people gonna have to bring those, too? Surge suppressors?
the more TVs people can bring, the better. Last year I was able to provide something like 12 TVs just on my own but we had a lot of TVs that people brought as well so anything people can bring is appreciated, even if its a small TV we can still use it.
Surge protectors last year were provided by the hotel we held it at. This year it will be at ModchipMans store. Im not sure if he has extra surge protectors but I would think so. Domingo would be the best person to answer this question. In any case I can bring a bunch just in case.
Umm just a heads up Mike that I am no longer doing anything with MCM, id really would suggest renting out a hall or something. Id like to talk about that deeper if you ever have sometime this week…but yeah your in Japan so that is kind of hard.
D
well that was unexpected…
please let me know whats up over PMs or on IRC.
Looks like I will hold the event at the same place as last year then. I think that place went perfectly fine.
