THAT SAID, as an update, I am currently watching Serei No Moribito (a show from GITS:SAC director Kenji Kamiyama) and the show is awesome.
So, it’s about a lady bodyguard (who essentially looks like Major Kusanagi from the Ghost in the Shell TV series, but with long hair) and how she is commissioned to protect the heir prince of some kingdom because the prince has been ordered to be assassinated by his father, the king, in fear of a curse that has afflicted his son that could potentially spell complete devastation to the entire country if the prince is left alive.
That said, the premise is actually more straightforward than it sounds: the curse is an actual tangible problem and there is no harder politicking going on than what is presented (the father doesn’t actually have much of a reason to want to kill his own son outside of the premise of saving the country from a terrible drought that might actually happen), but that doesn’t mean that the show isn’t interesting: it’s really fun to watch the Major, er, I mean Balsa bond with the prince, who isn’t a whiny brat despite being sheltered all his life.
I think Seirei no Moribito (which I think roughly translates to “Guardian of the Spirit”) may be one of the better works about magic in an alternate history of Japan that I’ve seen, likely because Kamiyama keeps a cool head about him and doesn’t drown the work out with commonplace exposition normally seen in most animu (the show doesn’t stop to spoon-feed the audience important details because the production staff spent enough time researching and constructing a fairly believable and organic world to set the story in; they don’t spoon-feed you the details because you can already visually confirm the details when you look at the actual production).
I think I remember complaining about how The Story of Saiunkoku was set in fake-ass imperial China… this is not the case here as the Moribito staff was likely given more money and time to work with.
With regards to the production values, it’s pretty nice, but I am annoyed at the use of 3D here and there: 3D horses and 3D background extras (who are inadequately animated) look pretty lame… I would’ve preferred if they just used stills (which is a staple of time-saving practices in anime) as it wouldn’t be as awkward.
Also, I guess I never really paid as much attention before, but I am noticing inconsistencies in art direction (painted backgrounds) more than ever… while generally detailed, some episodes clearly look better than others.
But then, it comes as to know surprise as the budget is usually distributed to episodes with more action in them…
TL;DR watch the show (it showed up on Adult Swim at one point?).

That said, am currently deciding whether to finsih Megaman ZX, start Okamiden or finish Okami…
Oh, and whether or not to pick up Ar Tonelico Qoga in 2 days: it’s a JRPG about how you strip girls down in order to make them stronger.
But, I might decide against it… I should just wait for Rune Factory: Oceans to get my weaboo on.
Dance Central should be used for MVC3 money matches: RamNation did it and it was amazing.
Wondercon is a big ass comic convention and other stuff. It goes on for three days and is really hype so I recommend you all show up to at least one day. It’s like 20 bucks for Fri or Sat and 10 for Sun or 40 for a 3 day pass. It’s April 1-3.
Do any of the east bay folks of Freedemonia have free time today/tomorrow where I can visit and bask in the glory of Jill and Shuma? 
Random note - it seems that Eudemonia got rid of their xboxes (or at least put them somewhere not visible from the outside of the store).

I work at a palce where there’s lots of kids and there’s like a bar next door and this is problematic because various patrons of the bar are smoking like right next to our building and the parents are complaining about it.
Does anyone have TL;DR versions/explanations of how this smoking-ban stuff works?
