Finally wrapped up some games:

Professor Layton and the Curious Village (ending was pretty epic and I am interested in seeing the animu movie, but it’s only available in english in the UK)

Hotel Dusk (lovely game for its story and animation, which is apparently rotoscoped and explains why I liked how it looked so much)

Am probably going to restart Ghost Trick and will try to get some more God Hand done (which is a difficult game [that seems to scale based on player performance?], but doesn’t suffer from the flaw of being boring and/or sucking… same can likely be said about all the Shinji Mikami games I’ve played)

Video Poker FTW (that game is pretty broken because of the high-low game they allow you to play afterwards which lets you get up to 4 times the initial payout if you guess correctly twice… and it’s not hard to guess correctly if you’ve taken a basic statistics class).

But, yes, video poker has allowed me to buy pretty much all the stuff in the shop, which is great since I can make zany combos with more moves…

I’m currently rocking the drunken fist stuff.

I’ve been playing Valkyria Chornicles recently, and I’ve forgotten how animeish it is. I got to the mission where you have to save Cordelia and you can’t blow up the tank she is in. And when you try to shoot the radiator with rifles or machine guns it takes so long.

Then I remembered that you can do a team attack if you place someone close to when you attack. I lined up like six people and started shooting at the radiator. Each time I shot, everyone yelled in hotblooded unison.

After that, I found out I had too much experience that I didn’t use to level up my soldiers, and didn’t upgrade the weapons that much either…

Trying to land sents combo #7 (from the guide, not mission mode) consistently is getting better, my fingers still pretzel up at the fly cancel stuff but nevertheless, it seems my execution in this game is getting better daily.

Speaking of scout spam:

I got my X-23 basic hop loop down comfortably, just needs some field testing so I can know when to go for it.

2A, 5B, 2B, C, 214C, jB, jB, jC, land, 9, jB, jB, jC, jS, 236A, land, 5B, 5C, S, 9, jB, jB, jC, j2C, 236A, land, doom assist a, 236B (charge), 236AB

Getting roughly 620k damage, or ~518k without beam assist. It’s also probably the only loop variation within my current execution level that seems to work against just about every character.

I also picked up the guide this week and was immediately alarmed to find X-23s launcher is -11 on block; will definitely need to build up my hit confirm skills so I’m not mashing full magic series all the time. :coffee:

After experimenting with using Ankle Slice assist as an OTG I now have lvl 3 setups with Trish was able to get about 800k, but I looked at the combo vid again and notice some other possible ways to get more damage. Will experiment later…

Also if no one knows, Doom Missiles Assist can OTG, makes for some fun combos with X-23 as it sets up a free lvl 3 (activate dirt nap instead of charging anle slice, since missiles will do the otg for X)

I’ve taken a 2-3 day break from MVC3 training and I feel incredibly refreshed.

I think I’m gonna limit my daily training mode to just 1 hour now; it’s for the better.

I was just YIM chatting with a friend who works at an internet cafe, apparently if you didn’t open the X-box at any point it counts as a product defect and you can get it fixed/new for free! Just needs the serial number and their website. o.o I have definitely not opened your box up, have you messed with its insides before?

I never open stuff up because it’s too complicated.

That said, Microsoft actually chrages $100 for it and I’m not sure I wanna do it if it means I can’t get it traded in at Gamestop.

Rune Factory Frontier is taking a serious amount of time to finish…

Like, nothing has happened over the last 2 game days outside of fucking crop harvests.

I’m thinking of just going straight to Okami right now given that I have roughly 4 days or so to finish it before the new one comes out.

I believe that we unofficially dubbed the dojo ‘Freedemonia’ representing the eudemonia legacy and their ‘freedem’ from having to pay out the ass to get games in, as we can do it for free at Freedemonia.
