does everyone have ps2 sticks? i have an Arcana Heart 2 RAP but that’s it. Aaron as far as the lack of downloadable UMK3 is concerned the game was taken off the live marketplace when Warner Bros. bought Midway. Don’t ask me why but they did.

Also, Mark: the dan battle system would work… if we had more people and those people would be willing to learn more characters. A problem we would have is this: Aaron and TJ guaranteed max out their ranking immediately, especially since they are so character specific with who they choose. They would have no one else to play… except each other. Nam would most likely quickly follow if he joined in. Jake and Adam would also max out very fast if this was vanilla SF4. It would get to the point where it is now anyways because they would get to the top the fastest then only be able to play each other by the ranking since you know we wouldn’t force anyone to retire a character. The only thing I can see happening is they each slow each other down on the way to the top and eventually everyone just says fuck the dan system. Here’s the rules (from Denjin’s translation since they’re doing it for 3s now):
The beauty of the dan battle systems that they have is this: top players max out their characters then pull out their 2nd characters. That way, we have every character represented in some form or another. I’m pretty sure every character in the 3s danisen battles is represented except Sean. I know I saw a top Chun playing Elena in that series. They also have 100’s (thousands?) of players.
Hmmm. Thanks for the insight. I wasn’t aware of the underlying system. I was thinking more like this:
Winner stays on. Single elim. We have say, 10 guys (Parry, Tj, Jake, Adam, Jesse, Bond, Arron, Nate, Guiseppe, Rocksteady for instance), and once someone gets +10, we have our nights champion.
So with three setups, we run one setup like this, and the other two setups are casuals double elim like always. Take this 1st setup very seriously. Each person could even put up 1 dollar. Winner takes home 10$ gas money. Or even 2 bucks a person 20$ increase the astral heat. Make things interesting. Or no money at all. Fuck it. Just bragging rights.
Reason I like it, is it’s like arcade style. Forget the dan system, just reset each week back to zero. Character selection throw that out too, anyone can use whoever they want.
I’d love to try this out at least one Friday. See how it goes. 3 setups again, I’ll try arrive early and bring my 360 again, we can use that as the 3rd setup for this format. That way everyones happy, really won’t change anything, it’s totally voluntary who wants to get in on it.
Like what game are we talking about SSF4 or third strike cause I want in on that if that’s cool or are we talking about every game we play cause if all the games we play have a set-up like that would be cool if that could work with all the that everybody plays
I’m guessing it would be for SF4.
I wouldn’t mind implementing it in other games though.

That was taken entirely out of context. What I meant was that adam’s wish to have the tits and hair of a 14 year old girl was already granted, so asking for something else on his birthday is quite greedy.

Hey guys im new to SRK, but i live in the oakland area and i have been looking for some people to play with really bad. Im not too good yet but i would like to improve.I play mostly on my DC (ill bring if people are interested) and i play mostly MvC2, Third Strike, and CvSnk2, I know a bit of SF4 but i dont have a 360 anymore to play it. I am at school now so i didnt really have a chance to read all of the posts in this thread but i hope to show up at your next event and really get to meet some of you (and get beat by most of you). so thanks for putting this all together and i hope to see you soon.
