Free poo poo trash garbage tier team!

Show up around 7 I guess.

I’m down for HDR of course. Not sure how many other people are.

where do you go in duquesne? and whats all going to be played tonight

The student union… 1st floor

google map it. you shouldn’t have a problem

I like Jakes idea of a tournament on friday…

Go look at the 2nd post in this thread, theres a google map link directly to it.

BlazBlue and Super I’m guessing will be played.

People will have to bring consoles. Mine RROD’d. There is a PS3 already there.

If you want to run a tournament, go ahead. I have plans and work Friday so I won’t be staying.

Good games to everyone I played last night, whether in HDR or that crazy Japanese game, especially Aaron. This is the first time I’ve gotten to play HDR offline, so thanks for the opportunity. I don’t think I can make it again on Friday, but I’ll try to get back there again.

Good shit Cauldrath. I feel like even if I still played regularly you’d stomp me. Guess I gotta pick up the sticks again and find a way to play. Maybe I’ll pick that bitch Chun

Jesse we need to play more Dark Awake.

Sorry I had to run off, I thought I worked Thursday, Friday. Instead I work Wednesday Thursday.

Yeah GGs Cauldrath. You definitely have that match figured out better than I do. We’ll have to play again soon.

Yo. I agree with Jake. Thats why i said we should run tekken no matter how many people you think will come for it. That goes for all games. If 4 people come we can run a round robin. If two people come we can do a FT whatever set. Thats also why I proposed we changed this to weeklies instead of bi-weekly. And thats also why I proposed we have like a small entry fee like 2-5 bucks (maybe just 2 to start (if people dont wana enter because of that they can sit there and watch as we level up and play casuals or somethin)).

I said all this because like Jake said having somethin on the line and being stressed is the best way to level up. These things are necessary in order for us to be able to compete with other cities. The only difference between us and them is our numbers which we are working on. But it should not be our mindsets. We can still compete like you guys did last weekend and we have done before.

i could bring a ps2 and SF: Anniversary Edition for 3rd Strike as well as CVS2 if anyone wants to enjoy the classics. bi-weekly starting on September 10th means that the ranbats will be on my Fridays off so I can make it every time. or i could bring a 360 and/or ps3 if you guys are short on these consoles.

The problem with this is that older systems need to be run on CRTs, and I’m not sure if the Duquesne student union has any.

I don’t know if any of you will agree with me, but me and Adam were talking and he is right, there is no incentive for winning the ranbats. No grand prize, no nothing really. To remedy this, I’m thinking we pony up some dough. If me, Adam, TJ, Nam, RJ, and Aaron all put up 5 dollars, the winner will, in theory of course, walk away with 30 dollars. The reason I’m listing these names rather than anyone else is because all of us have a good shot at taking first place, it will come down to who wants it more and who is practicing more. As for everyone else other than the 6 names, this will give them a 30 dollar incentive to participate, study up, practice, and win the tournament. Of course this doesn’t have to be 5 dollars, we could make it less or more depending on what everyone thinks, but I really think this will generate some excitement and make you play that much better because you want to get your money back.

As for Friday, since I let everyone down at the team tournament, I’ll step up and put 20 dollars in the pot to the winner, can you beat me and take it? Everyone will have a shot at it unless TJ wins cause he failed us big time by not quiting his job and going to the tournament.

So suddenly “I don’t think we should have a giant money match between friends” becomes “Hey, we should have a giant money match between friends.” I’m not paying an hours worth of pay every week (round about, or more if we did it for CS too.) to take care of Adam’s bastard children. $2 sounds fair.

Actually, we should steal the Maryland model and have RanBats and then have a monthly tournament. AND we could use the RanBat results to seed the tournament, if anyone else thinks this sounds viable, say so.

Edit: This would also give those guys from other states that you hang out with to come over.

Think about what Herb said and we can discuss this a bit further before making a final decision. Ranking battles xx tournament sound good? We can do… ranbats with $2 entry every week for 2-3 weeks then the last Friday of the month hold a $5 tournament with seeding from the ranbat placings. If we start getting people from State College, Ohio, and WV, or just more people in general, we’ll raise ranbats to $5 and tournaments to maybe $8? $10?

Sound good?

If I got in steady casuals with you guys I would like the idea

I’m with Rock Steady on this, I think it should go a Bi-Weekly, a week for casuals, and the tournament at the end of the month. Gotta allow us a week to level up without paying.

No I meant other than duq casuals

I remember Jake telling me that you guys get together on Fridays to play. Can I get some more info about it?

Jake, feel free to call me when you are heading to the game location. I’ll head up as well. I hope there is parking there.

2nd on info for Friday, Butters was telling me about it earlier. Is it at Duq?

Read that first page we play casuals there on Wednesday and Friday. Aim one of us if you still are having trouble
