Hello, sorry I’ve been MIA for awhile and haven’t been able to respond. I’ve found a place and will be moving to PA Aug 21st. When and where do you guys usually hang out? What games dominate this region? I’ll be looking forward to meeting you all.
@Toi_Yet Yes I play Marvel. I’m no pro since I started playing it a year ago but haven’t played much recently due to lack of easily accessible competition. I’m totally up for sessioning though. I am into SSF4, but I’m not that great at it since I don’t play it very much. With motivation from you guys, I’m hoping to get better :).
@Little Jimmy if your cool with a low turnout like 16 people we’d be happy to get that going but if you want a tourney i’d suggest u do it after the 21st since those are the big ones everyone’s going to. The reason we downplayed the idea before is we didn’t want to get you disappointed with the idea of having a large turnout when we’ve had less than steller showing in previous tournies in the burgh.
@060 Welcome to the scene, the top games right now are SSF4 and Blazblue. You’ll have plenty of comp either way. Easiest way to get into the scene is show up at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh on Friday’s at roughly 6 o’clock. Also know how to use stick or i’ll make fun of you.

Oh no, someone has thought to call me toilet again. What time will you be free today? I live about five minutes away from Oakland in Shadyside. I have a set up for super and blaz blue with 2 street fighter se’s with sanwa buttons. Sadly I only have the one stick for my dreamcast for marvel, but I may be able to talk Aaron into coming over too so we’ll have two dc sticks.

I haven’t played fighting games in awhile due to Starcraft 2 so I apologize in advance for my rustiness.
I think you may have just mistyped it earlier. When I made the name up, I didn’t even think about it’s closeness to the porcelain god, just thinking more along the lines of megaman’s stand fierce in marvel.
Aspinwall isn’t too far away, it is about ten minutes away from my place. We usually play at Nam’s from 7 to 11. I would suggest driving here yourself, it’ll make everything much easier and there is parking near my place, so you’ll be set. No worries on the rustiness, you can feel free to hit up that training mode too if you need to shake any of it off.
And you can discuss strats for starcraft 2 with Aaron, he has been going at it for the past couple of weeks.

Edit: We’ll start the ranking battles in the next few weeks. Bi-weekly, til the end of the semester. About a month from Friday sound good for the first one? September 10th is what I’m thinking. The dates after would be September 24th, then October 8th. This would 1. be a good starting time and 2. prevent our ranbat from interfering with Seasons Beatings.
Super and BlazBlue will be all that’s played unless people REALLY want to play anything else. There’s only like 4 of us that would show consistently for Tekken and since DK and Tyson and most of SCT can’t be, that’s not really a show of the local comp or skill in the game.
