what’s the parking situation like around AIP? I’d like to go but if parking is an issue then count me out. while i’m on the subject of parking why are all these fighting game get-togethers at places where parking is/could be an issue (downtown)?
Because unless you have a house capable of housing 15-20 people comfortably, we kinda have to.
There’s a lot of $5 garages after 6, and that’s also when they stop checking the meters.
Parking is not an issue at either AIP. There’s a lot across the street from AIP that is where I always park. You’ll have no troubles.
The meetups are downtown because that’s where the action is! Quit your bitchin. You’re welcome to drive over my house though. Tons of parking available, and I can almost fit 5 people here if you sit on the hard ass floor and enjoy my 1 setup. I’ll let Guiseppe kick your ass for 4 hours while me and Rocksteady go up to the pool and smoke a bowl. Much, much better than going to AIP where we have 4 setups tons of people open space big screen projectors and AIR CONDITIONING…
Which makes me think, on a different note, we could totally throw tournaments at AIP or Duquesne if we really wanted to (something to think about in the future).
Anyways. I’ll see you guys tomorrow. I hope someone has a PS3 setup. My 360 controller is officially shot.

If you really have to, park at Duquesne U somewhere and walk the 3-4 blocks down. It’s not that bad.
Or take a bus. Adam used to take the bus. Or along the street if it’s open. I just pay the 5 bucks though the lot is conveniently across the street.

Does anyone remember when I talked weeks ago about renting the fire hall near my house and throwing a tourney? With cash prizes? Then everyone saying no one would show up? I guess everyone would rather go downtown and play for shits and giggles than go to a small tourney(32 players max) and win money/TE sticks.
Jimmy, I would certainly be in for a tournament of that nature. I won’t lie, we won’t be topping out at 32, mostly just those of us that are willing to play at AIP would be the ones showing. But honestly, you never know. See what you can do, how much it would cost and when you can throw it. Once you get that organized, we’ll talk to the players from Ohio and other places to generate some interest and get this cracking.
Adam is bringing his 360 tonight, someone else try and bring a system. Hopefully this message isn’t too late.

Been getting back into other fighters lately (Blazblue,Tekken6,MvC2) & am up for any. I’d consider my skill crappy in Blaz and MvC2 but can hold my own with T6 and more so in Soopa Thumb Fighter Fore.
How’s the difference between blaz1 and 2? Has the battle system changed or should I still play the first in the meantime to get use to it?
currently working on a possible SSF4 tournament next month at my local gamestop. once I find out from the DM whether or not its possible I will let everyone know. if this happens and proves to be successful I will try to have a monthly gamestop tourney with a different fighting game each month (CVS2, MVC2, 3rd Strike, etc.) Prizes could be TE sticks and/or cash.
You may want to switch that SSFIV, SSFIV, SSFIV, etc. (SSFIV) if you want people to show, but more to be contemporary, CS, TvC, Tekken, if you’re going to go a non-Super route. I mean, Marvel would just be Jake vs. Aaron vs. Guiseppe + Random 1 guy who thinks hes good.
Herb, you need to work on shutting the hell up. If the man wants to host an mvc2, a cvs2, and a 3rd strike tournament for money/TE sticks for me… I mean, as prizes to the winner of said tournaments, then let him do it.
Jimmy, try to stray away from the weekends of the 14th and 21st. There is a major tournament in Philly and a minor one in Cleveland on the 14th. We will be in Columbus on the 21st for what appears to be a pretty big tournament too.
Everyone else, great games last night. TJ, keep up the practicing and watching videos, we’ll certainly need old dominate TJ back if we want cleanly sweep things up in Columbus.
Boxer Bobby, those were indeed some great games last night. You gotta keep your head in the game. A lot of time, you would beat me to an inch of my life, then if I started to mount a comeback, you would just kinda surrender. Don’t be afraid to throw out an ex rush punch, a head butt, something that will put some fear back into me and possibly even kill.

I know what you mean. After watching Aaron I realized I don’t use ex dash punches to their full potential in the situations you describe. Dying with full super meter is a good indication I need to use them more. thanks for the input.
