I think it depends on the character and how fast/far the dash is. I’ve found it varies with the character and there seems to be a funny acceleration as well if its someone fast. With wolverine and x when wave dashing it went from fast to OMGWTF and I think I saw it with dante and trish too when we were showing people how to do it.

Hello, I came out for a few gatherings last semester but eventually stopped cause school was kicking my ass. Now that my schedule is much lighter this semester, I’d like to get back into the scene, especially now that marvel 3 has dropped. Are there going to be any other gatherings, except for the one on friday specified in the first post?

As for who I’m using in mvc3, I’m currently using Zero, Taskmaster, and Sentinel (this is subject to change, of course).
For the record: There is absolutely no reason that anyone should NOT have Sentinel on their team. Unless some godlike anti-sent strategy gets discovered, the only excuse I can think of for not picking Sentinel is “I enjoy losing, it works for me.”

I still have your number so I’ll send you a message at 5 PM to verify. I’m also willing to host at my place. I’m right by the Giant Eagle on Murray in Squirrel Hill. I have one ps3, one stick, and 2 lag free 28" LCD monitors. I prefer to not move my setup around cause it’s a pain in the ass to disassemble and reassemble. Jake, I remember that huge LCD TV you had in your room had a bit of lag to it. Do you have any other setups, besides the CRT downstairs?
It has a frame of lag on it, possibly more, but most likely not. For marvel, none of us are noticing any issues or differences at all.
I can only host about five people at a time in my room, if you would be willing to pick me up, I could bring my 360 and 2 360 sticks me. We’d only have to get a hold of one more stick for your ps3, which Dice/Aaron/Nate all have one. So we’ll figure something out. How many people would you be able to host? I’ll be home around 4:30, so 5 will be perfect.
God, I still cannot get off this crack right now. Eventually, I’ll have to sleep.
I can only host 4-5 people as well, including myself. Actually, to be more specific, I have one futon couch that fits 4 if you don’t mind touching each other’s legs (no homo), 3 otherwise, plus a single chair which I’ll probably use. There’s plenty more space, I just don’t have the chairs. I don’t think sitting on the floor is viable cause you won’t be able to see the monitors, and I don’t really let people sit on my bed. My class ends at about 3:30 so I’ll be heading back home shortly afterwards to try and get some work done. Maybe someone else near your area can scoop you? The bus is also possible if you don’t mind a short walk. Take whichever bus leads into Squirrel Hill from Pittsburgh, get off at Wightman and Forbes, and it’s a 10 minute walk to my apartment. If you’re the first ones to arrive, I can drive to the bus stop and pick you up.
should be available some of this week, trying to figure out who I want to play. Putting Trish/Felicia/Modok on the sidelines as I mess around with Tron/Doom/Modok, Tron assist is awesome and doom feels better than I initially thought. Modok will take a bit of time and effort though. Will definately need your help Jake as my understanding of the system is poor and figuring out some resets will make my tron bonne a little scarier.

I’m going to be home at 5. I can still host and fit five people. I’m not willing to drag a system set up plus two sticks on a bus ride to sq. Hill, so if someone wants to play at my place then drive to Tom’s later to accomodate more people, I’m up for that. We could also end up at Nate’s today since he has two giant ass tvs to play on.
Regardless, I want to play marvel. Lots of it.
Doom assist… not any where near as great as it used to be, but from what I’ve seen damage wise, he is looking amazing. His missle asisst also appears to be amazing for combo purposes. Check out the Isadelic combo vid on the front page. He has a couple of tron combos on there. I’ll tinker with her as soon as I get a chance. You know about drill into level three on block right? Regardless, if you havent seen this [media=youtube]duBsjla070A[/media] start doing it… a lot. So much damage. As for Modok, I’ll watch a few vids and see if I can get a clear idea of how he needs to runaway and what he can do effectively against rushdown.
Yeah, I wouldn’t want to carry consoles and sticks with me on a bus either. Let me know where you guys end up, and if it’s not my place, I’ll try and make it out if I can if it’s not too far.
