lolli is the local rave bbs
I love raves. What’s Lolli?
loli is underage hentai
and hentai is anime porn
to break it down, loli is anime porn with underage anime girls
pretty fucked up shit.
also nate, you’re welcome buddy. and my TE is acting fine as of yesterday, dunno wtf was going on with it the other day.
I guess its a good thing that I had no idea what loli was. But I am off this coming friday, is anything going down.
well shit
now i think im a pervert
Nate do you like the movie Ghost Busters
loli - short for lolita, lolicon is also used for the material. Meaning little girl/underage porn or questionable acts
lolli.org - raves in the local area, Pittsburgh and Ohio and sometimes Washington or Baltimore if they’re big enough. The link I posted has Rob Swift of the Xecutioners DJ’ing and Love Eternal is in another week or 2 and that’ll be pretty big.
When I first saw the link I was skeptical too but then I realized there were 3 L’s and not 2, and that it was just a rave bbs.
I have Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt OST if anyone wants it
yes, its true. this man has no dick.
Does the Scanty and Kneesocks theme remind anyone else of oral sex ?
When people talk about tournament scenes in Buffalo and Columbus and in the same breath talk about how it isn’t possible to have the same thing in Pittsburgh, a metropolitan area that is larger than that of both of those cities, I can’t help but to think that it sounds a bit strange.
Let’s keep it real. The ONLY reason that there aren’t events in Pittsburgh is because no one has stepped up with the desire or the skills to put something together, not because no one would show up. I will continue to plan a tournament with whoever is willing to help. Will it be the greatest tournament ever? No, it won’t. What it will be is a start. Something to build on. Columbus had to start somewhere. Buffalo had to start somewhere. Heck, SoCal had to start somewhere.
It’s been said before and I’ll say it again, the people on this board represent a tiny fraction of serious fighting game players in the Pittsburgh area. We gotta stop thinking small. If everyone who posts on this site gets at least one other person to come out, that’s be a half decent turnout right?
I understand some people who post here, just aren’t interested. They have been down the road before and have seen nothing happen. i ask that those people to just not say anything then. Because the negative talk does not help at all. If it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen and if it does (and it will) just show up and compete.
We don’t have to keep talking about whether Pittsburgh can have a tournament or not. I think everyone here is tired of that back and forth.
For the new guy(s) stumbling into the thread
I saw Pittsburgh in the title and thought it was someone new at first
HOME OF THE BANANAS AND HAM (Nam?)
WE PLAY ON 360 MOSTLY
We play SF4 on 360 since most of us own 360 equipment. We will have arcade sticks available for you to use (TE, SE with full Sanwa, and occasionally HRAP) but it is encouraged that you bring your own controller/stick as this is a good habit, especially if you want to go to tournaments.
We play Tekken 6 on PS3 since most of the community here are pad players. We have PS3 sticks available as well.
CASUALS
Fenguard’s or Shinlad’s for SF4
If I remember right, Buffalo had its start in Pittsburgh, when Brian was here but he went back to Buffalo. Sherrone, Jake, or Nate can correct me if I’m wrong and I remember there used to be a Tekken invitational here as well. The last year they had it was my freshman year at Duquesne.
Columbus had Seasons Beatings 5 years ago and it became a hit. Columbus, however, I think has more people and the people who run the tournaments already had established relationships with players outside of just Columbus. Unfortunately the people who do know people outside of the community here are playing the games and are preparing for the next tournament. I’m sure if they thought there’d be enough interest though, they’d help you out.
You’ll get 10-15 from Buffalo and 10-15 from here unless people at the art institute decide to show up, which baffles me as to why more didn’t because 2 of our people went to that school. Then again last time I was there and it was the entire game club, they were too busy playing Naruto and COD. Also, the last tournament was advertised on craigslist and on SRK as well as a few other places.
Reread the 2nd to last sentence in that last paragraph. Throw smash in there and it becomes even more valid. “Serious” fighting game players besides the people who post here mostly play anything coming out of Japan because most of them can be found at the anime conventions. Naruto and Bleach players. Also, Smash players are very numerous and outnumbered us probably 3-1 easily.
You want people to show up for a tournament that isn’t smash, do Tekken. Talk to the Tekken players at zaibatsu. Seriously, the Tekken guys know how to pull people because they know and talk to people outside the local scene. You’ll get state college, cleveland, buffalo, and maybe some others (Axiom from C-bus?) Otherwise I’d start pm’ing random people who play on the other side of the state and seeing if/when they’d want to attend and get the guys here who play, who talk to out of state players, to start talking it up as well.
I’ll say it so Rock Steady doesn’t have to: You have no credibility, no one knows you. Find people who do know you, who know the people who would come, and they can talk for you.
Good luck.
Any Marvel action? I’m not a fan of much else other than SF4. Also I am unavailable for Friday nights, do you guys think you would be down for doing some Wednesday action also?
clue you having people over on Saturday?
Hablouken, I’d be up for playing some Marvel & SSF4 tomorrow. I will be home after 5pm and I’m willing to host. Send me a pm with your info and we’ll get something planned. This is also an open invite to whoever else wants to join up tomorrow.
Jimmy, I won’t be able to meet up tonight. I am insanely busy with school work, class, and I have a meeting tonight. For some crazy reason I am part of a planning group for hosting a giant scale event here in Oakland. A lot of the same stuff that is important in creating this event will be useful for creating a tournament. Which translates to me being more useful in touranment organizing. I can post up more thoughts on all of this later, as for now, I just want you and the others to know that I am in full support of throwing a tournament.
Who doesn’t enjoy the living shit out of Ghostbusters? Such a perfect movie.
Nate, what are you plans on Sunday? I say we get beer, play games, and watch a football game.
Yeah, Saturday. Not sure what time yet, maybe around 7 or 8.
700 Forbes Ave. Brottier Hall at Duquesne. I just need to know who all is coming because I can only have 8 in my building at once unless I sleep with the ex then maybe she’ll let me use her sign ins.
Thanks for the advice and insight. I appreciate it. Yeh, I’m aware of the fact that none of you Pittsburgh guys really know me. When I started X-ISM.com, I went for a national audience and thus skipped over making connections here in the Burgh. Actually I was unaware of this thread and that serious Street Fighter/ Fighting Game players were regularly communicating with each other in the area. Since then I’ve learned that there is a bunch of us. Most of which are also not aware of this thread but still out there grinding. It got me jazzed up and I’m really interested in developing and growing this local community. Getting to know most of you guys and not “lurking” ad much. I’ve made some good connects on the national scene from well known players to actual staff members at Capcom and I hope to take advantage of some of that. Along with creating some buzz around the city, I think something nice can happen in the near future.
The front page is filled with lies…Haggar would murder and eat Gief with his shark pals.
aren’t you jumping the gun a bit???wouldn’t it be a good idea to start out small since you have no tournament experience. maybe have a local tournament, gain some credibility, and get a taste of what its like to run a tournament before you start using your “national connections”
A local tournament with ssf4 mvc3 tekken and smash would give you a ton of experience. im sure if you advertised a mvc3 tournament around the local universities a ton of people would show up who know nothing about srk
A few years ago when I lived in Florida I ran a Smashbrothers tournament that pulled people from all of Florida in, the tournament was about 40 people. I do have a few conections with a few top players in that community though I no longer play myself such as Donkykong master Rockcrock, and I might be able to pull them up.
Again, I’m not a member of this community yet and won’t be till the end of the month, but also again, I’d be willing to help out.
I’d also reccomend a small tournament first, on one hand, building a relationship with your venue is important. It can save you time and money. You’ll also be surprised on just how many things you won’t expect that need to be done with the tournament. You’ll also need confidence when ordering around a group of 100 people, otherwise the tournament will run behind, something no one involved wants.
Pull your self before you start pulling florida…especially to a small local Pittsburgh tournament
but if you had ssf4 mvc3 tekken smash and ah3…we would have over 50 people without a doubt, and thats a good start for learning how to run a tournament
