I ain’t got no ps2 sticks or a copy of CvS2. Unlike marvel, with the exception of A groove I can play CvS2 on pad though, if someone wants to bring it.
And I’m not promising any good matches in 3S. That’s Eugene’s game, he can talk for himself.
I can probably burn some copies of CvS2 for Dreamcast if people can bring sticks or sticks and converters. That’s the main reason we haven’t played CvS2 or 3s: no sticks.
I’m not sure if I’m really up for lugging mine over to Duquesne, however maybe at some point those interested could play some PS2 fighters at my place. (or somewhere where there is already a CRT) It’d have to be a small gathering though. I live in a studio apartment and only have three chairs… haha
Man, tabletop RPGs are the new hotness. Cleric Archer is gdlk.
Oh, and probably not gonna be able to make it to class tomorrow Ryan; got some nasty ear-infection shit that’s making my body drop like my combos. This is Nick btw.
do not insult the hustler by bringing up color of money…although the book is good (tom cruise character… not there). There shall be pool. first person to go a full round with scratching shall be declared victor. All ties go to me as a handicap. Also, check out planescape torment if you don’t mind massive ugliness and shitty resolution. I forget if black isle had transitioned into bioware at that point or not, but it’s good stuff either way.
Just to clarify any lingering doubts, RJ can also beat, with regularity, the following characters of mine: sim, honda, sagat, ken, ryu, blanka, abel, …the bald dude with stretchy arms who isnt sim, rufus, rose, fei, sakura, future dudley, future makoto, future ibuki, and every other character I am bad with. I bet you could count that list forwards and backwards at least a 100 times while you sit and watch others play, patiently waiting for another turn, after losing to gief.
Seriously though, anyone who has played this game more than 5 times can just talk to adam and implement his entirely accurate method of beating me. Here’s a helpful hint: You don’t actually have to do anything, I’m not good enough with viper to win. Another useful option is pick a character who has a small hit box and duck. I guarantee I will fly over your head and land completely vulnerable right next to you. So, for the record, I am unable to cross up anyone except rufus, honda (who shouldn’t allow himself to be crossed up), sagat, and gief (whom I shouldn’t even attempt to cross up).
PS - does anyone else get a double post warning everytime?
I always get a double post warning, which is super lame.
Stefan, I’m bringing that 360 stick with me tonight. Jesse is supposed to appear with the new sanwa buttons for it. And I may just be down for a game of pool tonight, we’ll see how long the wait for games is.
Jesse if you could, pick up a spool of wire like you brought me before. I like working with it. Or just some wire in general that’s small. We could potentially have a working PS2 stick tonight.
Nate: I know Color of Money pales in comparison, but Tom Cruise wasn’t insane yet and it’s still a fun movie. I really wish they would’ve played that game out at the end of the movie. You know what? Fuck that movie for not showing that game. And I agree, the books are better.
If you want some entertaining reads though look for these:
The Bank Shot and Other Great Robberies <- I’ve never heard so much entertaining bullshit in my life, it’s amazing. Even if you don’t like or understand the game, it’s Minnesota Fats telling the stories from his eyes.
Playing Off the Rail <- I don’t know how much is true and how much is false but this is also non-fiction and really good. It’s pretty much modern day Hustler with Bert and Eddy except this is a real pool player who is now the head of the US Pool Player’s Association and the author who was his backer
Hustler Days <- This is a real good overview of what was REALLY going on until the golden age of pool halls died. If you read this parallel to Minnesota Fats you find out how full of shit he was, but his book is still entertaining.
I know you can get the first 2 on Amazon for like a few dollars or maybe less, or just through libraries, but they’re worth the read.
Edit: Double post warning only happens if you use quick reply. It’s an issue with the new VBulletin layout.
Yeah thanks for showin up man. Next week, it might be at AIP because Duquesne is closed and I won’t be here. Wait for Outlaw to post up if he can get AIP or not then we’ll go from there.
