hey guys. I am looking for a place to stay in pittsburgh. I’m very clean person, steady job and cash in the bank, super reliable person. anybody looking for a room mate or one of thier mates is bouncing sometime in the future and you have a spot to fill. please let me know.
i have a mate all the way in california. norcal, to be exact. he wants 350 a month rent and its a nice place. honestly im thinking about it, but id rather stay in the burgh. i got too many connects and friends here to just up and bounce. so if someone can hook a brother up hit me up, text cell # = 724-970-8378
I’m still interested in the SSF4 down in pitts, does anyone know the bus schedules? Basically I’d have to take a bcta bus down and back but I’ve only ever gotten off near the convention center 7th street? When MvC3 comes out I need as much practice on that as possible
of course…everyone in Pittsburgh knows beaver bus schedules
That’s not important whats important are the times the players get together in pitts and if anyone takes the “pittsburgh” buses to get there. I’ll worry about bcta
yea i’m probably not gonna play mvc3… for very long anyway
:bluu:
I’m going along with wait until Justin, sanford, yipes have the game figured out and play one of their teams plan. Fuck learning shit on my own.
Eat double post mutha ucker
Okay I’m all healed up and jobless and totally in for saturday. Dice is there still a spot open in your car?
I know the BCTA schedule. They have 3 buses including a special sunday one. They only run a few a day though, usually for rush hour traffic.

Then to get to AIP, you can walk from anywhere downtown. You walk on Grant, Smallman, or Penn until you get to the Blvd of Allies then look for the dinosaur outside and maybe the big AIP letters on a building.
To get to anyone’s house, you’ll need a bus or a ride. You’ll have to ask them where they’re playing and when for that.
Justin, Sanford, and Yipes will play it until they figure out its TvC2 and will play Marvel 2 again with SF4 just for the prize money. Good plan if I ever heard one. Then Kurasa and Keits can circle jerk about MvC3 while Marn takes their money.
Except MvC3 will probably blow up so they’ll play that for the money too.
I recommend hanging out with Butters and playing some faster games like Melty or Arcana Heart 3 or some donjon stuff so you can get used to A A A 2A B 2B 6C IAD D D D D D D D jump cancel A B C super move thing
Well we’ll have to see what my options are when MvC3 comes out for playing, as for
“I recommend hanging out with Butters and playing some faster games like Melty or Arcana Heart 3 or some donjon stuff so you can get used to A A A 2A B 2B 6C IAD D D D D D D D jump cancel A B C super move thing”
what? O.o mostly what on the button combo
MvC3 has an A, B, C, D format. Not lp, hp, lk, hk, just weak, medium, strong, with tag buttons. Play a doujin game like Melty Blood or Arcana or play BlazBlue and you’ll see. Or TvC, since thats what this game will be except a few changes, and with Marvel characters. Someone’s combo (and I’m betting more than 1 character) is just 1 button after a certain point, sort of like mashing the C button in the Hazama combo in the air. Or whatever button it is.
You’ll see these :snka: instead of :lp:
And this is MvC3, except harder and with completely original characters made for the game/anime/whatever source material it is. Butters can enlighten you with that information if you wish.

Dice, can I take that 5th spot in the car?
Someone needs to take a trip to positive Paul’s pizza palace and stop being such a negative nancy.
Adam, we’ll learn Justin/Yipes/Sanford team together. God knows I’m not about to put out the effort into learning characters that probably won’t be that good. I’ll teach you how to be best, right under myself of course.
Tell me more you’ve peeked my interest
Guisseppe and RJ I’ll check to see if I can take the car that will seat 5 people, let you know later today, as of right now I can drive 5 but it would be a bit uncomfortable in the back.
and yo stephan, you need to stop hating on everything before you even lay hands on it, let alone the entire community lays hands on the final build. The concept that “it’s new so it’s bad” isn’t a logical argument in any way, “It’s TvC2 so people won’t play it” is also not a logical argument, people will play it if they enjoy it. So chill on the constant hate, mkay?
Oh also, it would be wise to stop trying to assume you know what everyone is going to do. Then again, maybe I should apply to your school of thought. Up until now I’ve been doing things the hard way, forming my own opinions and not giving two fucks about what anyone else thinks, I should just fall in line and wait to see what yipes sanford and justin think about the game and go by what they say instead of playing it and forming my own opinion on it. Just dismissing it outright would be the easy way to go…oh wait fuck that, it’s a new game.
I’m not sure what game you guys are playing, but at the level we see MvC3 at now, MvC2 is just as easy.
Also, as someone who plays both TvC and MvC2, the things that separate TvC from MvC2 don’t exist in MvC3. You don’t have universal options, you don’t have Burst, the only thing you have connecting them is the control scheme. The only thing connecting MvC3 to Melty Blood is the X-factor system and control scheme. This games lack of Aerial manuiverability for about half the cast and lack of universal air dashes means this game will not play like Melty Blood. Do you even play Melty Blood? The control scheme means nothing really. Button lay out doesn’t really effect how the game will play.
Do you even play video games, or just watch youtube videos?
Wait, hold up, MvC3’s like Melty Blood?
…
To Gamestop!
I’ll keep hating. I almost have my Sith card. Once I have that, I can go drop 40 on anybody and win multiple superbowls in a decade. Then I’ll bring Michael Jackson back from the dead to play Street Fighter with you guys and try to draw Giuseppe in with promises of arcade sticks and roller coasters.
I honestly don’t play shit anymore, not even games I like. I don’t even know why I play fighters, I’m fucking garbage at them and can’t beat anyone anyways. Anyone meaning the computer because I never leave to play with anyone and no one comes here. I sit around and watch youtube all day wishing I even could hold an arcade stick let alone own or use one. But Halo and Madden are good enough for me. 10000000000 people online at all times? How can that many people be wrong? Endless competition! One day I’ll win the super bowl with Detroit… one day…
I played MB when it was still AC and a shit load of other doujin games before it was “cool” to play them and they weren’t for me. The only thing I look forward to at this point is Tekken Tag Tournament 2, and I’ll probably not even care by then.
Let me break it down for you though:
You have A, B, C attack.
Games that have this: MB, AH, BB, Random doujin game, TVC, GG to an extent. It was called punch, kick, slash, hard slash in that.
You have OTG combos galore in this game and bounce combos.
Games that have this: I’ve seen it with a few characters in MB and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it in AH and BB has them to some extent, and for BB for the most part at least 1 per character that is integral in their main bnb. Last I remember though, the people that are most hype for this game (MvC3) abandoned BB after SBR and now say it is ass. Tekken also has “bound” now but that game is ass too.
X-Factor: This is some kind of rage thing? Oh its in Tekken. I hear people (ahem rock steady and dice) saying Tekken is garbage, but they don’t play it, and say Rage is retarded as well. Hmm… X-Factor is OK especially when it leads to 100%'s? And you don’t play tekken but its awful, its ass. Ok, its garbage. No wonder I haven’t played it in months let alone anything else. There’s K-Groove but if we play CvS2, I’m the only person that ever plays K Groove anything and no one plays KOF or says they want to and I’m pretty sure thats where it came from.
From what it looks like, MvC3 rushdown is this: Land hit, combo into launcher or OTG (BlazBlue), air combo (We’re gettin some doujin action in here), depending on the character, super, OTG pin, or BOUNCE (Tekken what?) continue combo, and if you get the screen wipe, you have time to do a full screen OTG super because somehow you get an untechable knockdown where you’re still vulnerable and the combo counter doesn’t stop. And you hope to god the person doing the damage doesn’t have x-factor or is playing a good character because you’ll probably be able to have 1 hit left because there’s some weird thing where you can’t die from huge combos but you can have a few pixels left.
Also, the fucking Hulk can do this? Since when is the angry green giant a combo machine? Hulk lands 1 hit with meter and x-factor, you lose. I doubt that combo is anywhere near as hard as ROM or even Iron Man’s easy shit.
Modok, keep away will be ridiculous. I get Rachel Alucard feeling from Modok. Big hit box/sprite but you can put shit out, float around, do combos and damage and annoy the fuck out of anyone you play against. If his damage output is good, he’ll be dumb good. Adam should take advantage of this.
Then again all it takes is 1 hit and there’s your combo into whatever. My guess is the speed will be between that required for TvC combos and an MB combo. All I remember from MB is hearing frantic button pressing when shit was going on, especially for combos. And it will require the same practice as BlazBlue.
Really this is just for Dice, because the game has elements of games he swears are garbage and that he’ll never play, or never play again.
MvC games had the screen wipe but I don’t remember it being an untechable OTG opportunity in either MvC or TvC. If I remember right Mag’s Hypergrav could pick you up and he had a few other OTG options, but it wasn’t to the point where you had the time for your character to come back on screen and continue the combo. If I remember right, if you got a screen wipe, you have mixup opportunities to setup the unblockable or go for a snap if they called an assist but never an opportunity for free super like that, especially one that combos.
The last time I saw someone being able to just get picked up off the ground in a 2D game was Alpha 3 in v-ism for custom combos when you just do a throw and it worked to lift them. And we all know how much everyone loves the alpha games, especially custom combos.
Also Im pretty sure Fist of the North Star had just as much crazy shit and we’ve played that 2 or 3 times. That’s a true air dash anime game there.
Here’s the timeline for MvC3 in Pittsburgh:
First few weeks: Game is great fun! Everyones enjoying it, shits flyin everywhere, Deadpool is talkin shit. Woohoo
Guaranteed win (for some people) tactics are found: Game is just ok, people get tired of losing but still play
Guaranteed win people get too good due to past experience in other VS games: Everyone quits.
I can count on 1 hand how many people in the fighting game community here have fun playing MvC2 with Jake or Aaron. It’ll take 2 hands to count how many people have fun WATCHING them play.
I can count on 1 hand how many people locally will PLAY TvC at all. I just need 1 (ok maybe 2 or 3) finger to count who would have fun playing it with Jake or Stephone.
So now you have a game coming out that’s the bastard child of MvC2 philosophy and TvC mannerisms and its some hybrid of them with new things. You have the 2 people who are great at Marvel/VS games hype about it (Really I dont know how hype you are Jake but Stephone calls/texts me every day asking if new Marvel shit was revealed) and they plan on playing it, probably a lot, and you’re just now deciding to get serious about the VS series? In the infamous words of Kenshiro, “Omae wa mou shinde iru.”
The only way you can hope to catch up, besides the fact that its a new game, is if 1) the “best” dont play it at all, let alone research anything and 2) it has training wheels like I think it does.
Have fun Jake, Aaron if you play, Nate, Stephone. Good luck everyone else.
Akuma edit: TJ, Akuma has everything Ryu wishes he had in MvC3. If you play it, for god sakes pick him! Oh and if Kurasa gets a chance to play it with Akuma before it releases, Stephone’s having him try this potential “infinite” that’s evident in the Akuma video if you’re watching close enough. He might be pretty ridiculous in this game.
