The tournament was fun overall. Those UMK3 guys are way too good and American buttons are not top tier lol. Stephan we need to get some games in so we can learn it and then put up a good fight against them. Bobby is amazing for beating Marn in 3s. Everyone did great in Super. I need to play more Super against everyone so I can learn more match-ups. Good stuff to everyone in Pittsburgh for showing up at the tournament and representing. it is unfortunate that not being a college kid and having a full time job limits my availability and free time putting me into that imaginary person category. on the upside I make money and can buy things like TE’s on a weekly basis if I want to. In all seriousness though I put in for vacation time at work for NEC11 and was approved. I’m flying because I’m too lazy to drive and I’m gonna stay at the Sheraton since that is the place the tournament is being held. none of my friends have the time and/or money to make the trip so I was curious if anyone in this thread was low on funds and wanted to share a room. I could pay for the room myself if need be. just thought someone might need some place to crash that weekend and play casuals during the down time.
Hey Jimmy I bet I have less time than you with a 35hr/week job, class, boxing, and homework and I still manage to chill with the guys. On top of that, Dice has a full time job, so does Star and I’m pretty sure Toi_yet and Shin are full time as well, especially since Shin is a manager.
Keep buying TE’s and stock pile them, no one cares, we have enough shit of our own. Notice we still manage without your help or you ever showing up. Shin and Toi are very good at their game despite not having time between full time jobs and school. Guymelef works all the time and still can destroy almost anyone in almost anything he plays. Owning sticks doesnt make you good or a part of the community or even meaningful to it, especially if you never show up to anything involving the community. And I haven’t heard of any stick builders or modders being top players and you’re just buying them, so not only do you know nothing about the games but you probably don’t know shit about what you’re buying.
So really, you work a full time job and don’t go to school. That means you don’t have homework. So you theoretically have MORE time than everyone else.

By anything involving the community I assume you mean the Friday get togethers that used to happen at DUQ and now intermittently at AIP. Not knowing what I’m buying? If I get a TE I don’t do anything to it but if I get a HRAP I swap out the buttons for 30mm Sanwa. An SE with $20 worth of parts equals a compact TE. Been playing fighting games since World Warrior came out in arcades when those still existed and half the people that post in this thread were in pre-school. So I guess I have nothing positive to contribute to the scene aka the 10 or so people that get together and play on a regular basis. Trying to be nice be saving someone some money when NEC11 rolls around because it sounds like most of you guys don’t have a lot of disposable income. Correct me if I’m wrong about your financial situations.

Jimmy, you have said the same things about making a difference by offering the community arcade sticks since you started posting here oh so many months back. We all believe you aren’t a real person because none of us have met actually met you. Instead of throwing around promises of arcade sticks, just show up on Friday and get to know everyone. It isn’t hard and it certainly sounds like you have the free time to do this.
I am not someone that believes that you don’t have anything positive to contribute to the community. Perhaps you do.
