Nolan managed to walk forward (with Evil Sakura) through King Kobun last week - Iāve never seen that before. I think itās because the hammer must have hit an assist firstā¦ ? Regardless, it looks greatā¦ Iād love to know the secret to just walking out of it.
Usually Tron is your last character. Do the following:
jab dp for incoming character guard break, fierce throw into corner, c. lp (or c. short) xx qcf +pp. Then as they are getting up from the superā¦
short kick tiger knee drill, throw as you fall (very hard to counter depending on the size of the characterā¦ opponent must be real good at tech throw to get out), c. jab xx qcf+ pp. Repeat.
You can kill off a whole character this way, and itās VERY frustrating for the opponent if you do tiger knee drill and sometimes mash, sometimes donāt (so that they have to stop blocking to tech at the right moment).
and cammy/tron has got to be one of the best tron bonne combinations in the game. scary.
^-- Does that work for you? I think most everybody else does guard break, throw, launch, combo into rethrow, OTG, lunch rush. Or relaunch there, if theyāre feeling lucky.
Intriguingly, I think everybody does a different Tron corner comboā¦ I know Frank, Mike, Jaminis, Evan, and I all seem to do it differently. (I end the corner SJ combo with a very low LK drill, which you can then throw them as you both recover from it.)
Jab DP = crap guard breakā¦if they take the hit they get out for free. Bleh. Even Fierce Trap Gun is better than that.

I think this was against JALbert so he might recall for certain the specifics, but I managed to kill the point character with Tron and then hit his assist with drill, recover, drill, recover, repeat until the assist died. I had no idea that worked. If I have time Iāll try to figure that out - I do recall that at the start of the assist kill the character was only about 1/4 onscreen in the far right corner. We were both pretty stunned.
I think Iād remember if that happenedā¦ canāt say that I do thoughā¦
Anybody know what causes Sentinel to recover in mid-air after flying screen recovery after a heavily mashed drill? Iāve ran into this two times now - I drill the robot mid-screen with both of us mid-air, then attempt to follow up on mutual recovery with a jab - and Sentinel is somehow in the air as if he had done the ācorner bounceā.
Iām not really sure whatās going on here, but itās cost me both matches, so I figured a) I should remember this so I donāt get beat by it again and b) check to see if anybody else knew why this would happen.
Could you possibly describe that better? Iām not sure which recovery youāre talking about, otherwise I would give you an answer. :^)
In other news, if you FS-install with Tron, her drill will indeed cause FS. Weird.

whats up guys im new to the game and im wondering if anyone can postup some good strategies and combos and useful info and any good teams to have her on. i just picked her up the other day and ran wit storm proj/t.boone proj/cammy AAA and it worked out pretty nice but i was jus sorta wingin it wit booneand even like that i did ok wit her. thanx again in advance
Out of all my teams in MvC2, Tron is an absolute MUST.
I tend to find her attacks more fluent, especially her basic L. Kick basics. But, I mainly admire her Lunch Rush special. Not only can it chip off decent help when blocked, but it can also get you major points for each hit (For those who really care about getting on the high score lists that donāt use Cable, Ironman, and War Machine togetherā¦). Personally, I special with Felicia and Tron together. Right after Feleciaās sand attack, it can set your opponent easy back into the Lunch Rush.
But, Iāve seen all too many people overuse the Boulder Throw H. Punch technique in order to charge their barsā¦
How are you getting chip damage off the Lunch Rush? If youāre using Tron-A, youāre missing out on her great Projectile assist - Tron-A is markedly inferior to Tron-Y.
Iād only ever use the throw assist if I KNEW I had a great followup, sure just getting them thrown is great if their and range and it connects, but if you donāt have a followup to combo itās pretty much worthless. Seen some vids of Blackheart doing HOD after Tronās throw connects. LR for chipping? Might as well do drill xx KK, and save yourself the trouble of bothering to keep yourself at 1 meter.
j adforward lk>hk>cr.lk>launcher>aircombo to throw>land>lk>hk sj.cancel adforward>throw>land>lk mk>kobun rush> just about deadā¦drill the rest off XD
add an extra: sj.lk +SENT GROUND ASSIST>hk>assist hits then add the combo up there ^^^ and full life.
When their anti-air assist lands behind my Tron, Iāve been using standing fierce punch xx Kobun Copter for a quick hard to punish ~30 pts (they fly forward into the copter unless they have armor).
Anybody have any great combos after you capture somebody in high air with Kobun Capture? Iāve been going with anything ending with shorts to set up the throw reset into relaunch repeat, but if they tech hit thatās weak.
If you do something like Lunch Rush into psychic Fierce Capture that they sj into (happens a lot), you can always tag into combo of choice with someone else since you already recovered by the time they got hit. :^P Sometimes I just sj.Fierce into Short drill to airthrow, or sj.Jab->Short(1)->Fwd airthrowā¦if you have an assist that works like Doom, you can call them then sj.dash Fierce->RH land into comboā¦
If you want to work for it, you can sj, then Fierce as you are going underneath them so it hits super low and they fall above you, Short Drill right before you land that will hit a few times and miss with the last hit, falling Jab->Strong land into ground combo. Easier on Sent but works on Big 4, and major style points.
If you catch them closer to you but still in the air, you can whiff Fierce Kobun Copter, sj airdash above them and Fierce from behind, copter hits, sj.Jab->Short->[Fwd, airthrow] or [Strong->Fierce, OTG RH, land etc].
Then again, you could just taunt while pointing at them and laughing openlyā¦
[edit] If their assist lands behind you and you have good reactions with a DP, you can let your Fierce hit up to 3x while readying your Kobun Copter for when the point comes to get youā¦

I swear that everybody online falls easy prey to Tron corner launch air combo into RH finisher, air dash forward to delay your fall, watch them whiff out a hit below you, then land and combo them.
Itās more hilarious than the throw reset and theyāre less likely to rage quit, in my experience.
An interesting team Ive been playing with is Strider/Doom/T-Bonne. The reason I like it is because now strider has more damage with his urobos combos. Teleporting w/assisting with Tron makes the atmosphere for your opponent very hectic, because they know if they budge a little, theyre eating a lot of damage. That combined with Doomās normal chipping, you have a pretty good team. Also, with Doomā¦launch in the air, dash down, and then grab them. Once youve grabbed them and theyve come down, cross over to the other side with Tronās assist. It takes almost the full amount of damage, and you can air combo into Photon Sup.
Itās kind of dumb, but Chun-Li/Tron-A is kind of sick - square jump over them (after flying screen) + tron throw, cLK OTG off the throw into recomboā¦
I only mention something this lame because I hit that ~6-8 times in one match today.
my fun team is storm/sent/tron, dhcās combo into one another and does unreal damage when using sent/tron, but the lack of anti-air is a bit crappy at times (just gotta rush them down with storm)
