Because MK9 Practice mode doesn’t have a “record + playback” mode for the AI as in SF4, it makes it hard to test how to punish certain moves. Is there some way for 1 person to test for punishes? I’ve only tried to fight the AI and wait for them to perform a certain string, and then tried to see if I could punish it. I’m not having much luck at all.
Also, does anyone know if frame data is in the works? It would help immensely.
If you want to find out a certain move, simply use it online a lot and see if it works. I typically just learn things from trail and error so players who use characters I haven’t tried yet might get in a few hits before I start blocking what they use. It’s all about rhythm. Or I guess you could get a friend to come over and help you find out as well.
So far they only got execution/start up frames though. Of course the most important is advantage on hit/block, but they’re working on it and should be up in a few days or weeks (hopefully).
lol, I’ve also tried that with little success. Main problem is the AI is kind of random and has certain patterns.
For example Noob refuses to throw 2 shadow clones in a row. CPU abuses black hole (which no decent player uses ever) and almost always teleports on wake up. But I just wanted to practice vs someone spamming clones.
If it can make you feel better, I heard NRS are working on that dummy recording feature as we speak. They should add it in an upcoming patch.
