FPS Gamer wants to move to the fighting genre! Please help!

Ok so I am an avid FPS gamer and I want to get real serious about fighting games because I am bored with all the garbage FPS games out there. Now I am pretty decent at Street Fighter and I main Abel but I really love the art style of BlazBlue. In anycase I want to get into Fighting games more seriously and I am really looking for tips and advice as well as information on good sites on the net (whether its for BB or SF4). I usually don’t like asking things like this but since I know nobody who plays fighting games I need the help. =)

Thanks in advance.

wow thanks for the “help” if thats the case then lock the thread. No help here…

I also come from a competitive FPS background; mainly 1v1 games such as Quake and UT. If you ask some specific questions, I’d be willing to give advice the best I can.

That is a great answer. Also, watch the tutorial video that came with the LE condition. It is helpful.

lol the question you asked sets you up to fail.

You didn’t get much “help” because you asked a very very general question. It’s like if I ask a NFL coach how do I get better at football without telling him what position I’m interested in, etc etc.

Choose one character that you enjoy playing, and look over the tutorial disk. The stuff on there is from top U.S BB’ers. Practice the combos on there in training mode, then try and apply it. Rinse and repeat.

Noone is going to hold your hand. You should know by now you have all of the needed resources right in front of you at your disposal to enhance both your knowledge and understanding of the game. Most of ALL of what you need are covered in every single sticky posted in this forum. From actual game mechanics, to a video forum, to differences and what to expect, about theory, etc. It’s up to you to put in half an effort to use the things that have been put in your hands to use. Further spoon feeding seems a bit much IMO.

Put the effort in, and over time you will be rewarded.
