Gootecks is a professional SF4 Balrog player from SoCal who is generally considered to be very good. He used to place well in a lot of tournaments but lately it seems like he has put actual competitive gameplay on the backburner and is more focused on things within the community like tournament organizing, commentating and such.
He is somewhat notorious for the legend that he once threw his TE Stick against a wall after losing a match. He and other spectators at said event have repeatedly affirmed that didn’t happen, but people believe what they want to believe.
I have played Gootecks in person at Arcade Infinity before and could’ve beaten him if I didn’t try and seal the match in an unnecessary way.
I’m not saying he’s bad, but just going back to what I said earlier that tournament players aren’t always in tournament mode 100% of the time.
Because his pupil gets it after taunting.
