[FORSALE] Custom Arcade Joystick(s)

hey DREADED FIST, is it possible to make a P360 stick on PS2? and what’s a sanwa sticks?

yes you can use a p360 on ps2 stick and sawna = jap stick with square gate, which i love now that im using this hori

How is that possible? i heard somehow p360 sticks won’t work on PS2.

they just have to be wired to a battery they get the 5v charge it needs to work

what about a separate plug through the wall instead of a battery?

i suppose that would work in theory but a battery would be easier/better though i know you can wire a p360 though the ground and it will have the 5v charge seen dreaded fist’s topic http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41823

the wall outlet might give out too much power. not to mention you’r enot always going to have a wall outlet.

So P360s run on batteries? How does replacing the battery work once it dies out?

Oh, and here are some pics of the stick I got from DF:

Making sanwa soon? Guess I better save for another one…

You simply take out the old battery and replace it with a new one. I think I installed a C battery in your stick.

looking forward to it

what do you guys feel about applying paint via roller vs spraycan?

roller paint=thicker, less likely to chip and scratch, textured

spray=thinner, smoother, more likely to chip and scratch

Let’s see here:
A) spray paint. Expensive, requires many coats, yields the smoothest job though. Unless you have your onw paint gun.

B) latex or oil based paint in a can. Goes on thicker, with fewer coats, is cheap, is durable, but the texture is not smooth looking.

C) Same as b), but with a few drops of paint thinner added. Same shit, it just allows you to use the paint like spray paint. Do many coats, sanding between each coat.

D) Clear coat. I’ve stopped using it on sticks. People just end up bumping their sticks into shit too much. When it gets scratched, it turns white. That will ruin your day if the box is black.

This can be a huge advantage to a builder though. You can paint the box, then put about 2-3 coats of clear on it. Then once it gets scratched up bad, let’s say 2 years worth, just sand it down lightly with 1000 grit and recoat with clear. Obviously only the builder himself will be willing to do this.

i’d personally go with roller because its more likely to last longer and it doesn’t take that many coats and its alot easier to apply

Spray paint is faster and easier to apply.

hey df i have a few questions…im pretty sure they already been answered but this thread is f-in long

  1. do u make them for DC? (native, not convert)
  2. do u have japanese joysticks (like hori…the lil spheres)?
  3. if u do, is there even such a thing is a p360 for them? and do u carry?
  4. can u custom the position of the buttons (the curve that fits ur hand is important)?
  5. do u have that arcade feeling buttons (light taps with convex faces)?
  6. if mostly yes, how much for 6 button p360 japjoy cab with 2 extra buttons (start/select), and no custom/extra shit? to canada(TO)?
thanks for your time i appreciate it.

I’ll answer best I can to try and save DF a minute or two.

  1. no
  2. not yet, it looks as though soon is a possibility though
  3. Well you have to understand P360 is just a kind of optical stick, a brand of it. That being said there is a very limited quantity of Sanwa Flash sticks, which are optical. The prob is the part w/o factoring in labor or anything costs a little less than $60.
3 pt 2) I think he makes all of his the same, but this one I can’t really answer properly because Im not sure.
  4. Yes he has convex buttons, and they are actual arcade parts so its the same thing.
  5. Generally that type of stick will run $180 at least, but its hard to say because no one really sells Flash stick customs, and if they do they sell them with sanwa buttons, making it cost more.

yeah he makes jap layout that curve to your hand i think its like 10 bucks extra

N-ken thx for answering those questiosn for me and I think you covered everything except the flash stick pricing.

I’ll still deciding on a price for the custom sanwa sticks. But for a flash stick +8 convex buttons it’ll run about
$170ish w/o shipping, and $35 shipped EMS to canada.

cool thx a lot.
i didnt quite understand what flash stick is tho…u said they are expensive, rare, and optical, but are they spherical?
thx

The flash stick is a regular Sanwa stick except for the fact that it runs via optical signals as opposed to the mechanical input(where the stick shaft is pushed from your input to activate a tiny button on the microswitch that registers as the button input. This is simplified, but it should give the basic idea I think) The resultant is the flash stick needs 5V of power, does not make a clicking sound, and lasts longer(at least in theory) I’ve never actually used a Flash stick, this is just what I’ve read. In any case, to answer your question, the default handle is a balltop, however one nice thing about Sanwa sticks is that the handle can be screwed off, so you can switch out to another color or a bat top.

DF - Happy to help.
