My memories mirror Pherai’s. The thing I love most about 3s in Tokyo is marveling at the fact that a niche ass game enables this group of people to meet and become friends all over the world. 3s in Tokyo is probably the most fun I have ever had in my entire life. Absolutely nothing compares.
Waking up at 4 PM, eating something amazing, play 3s until the trains stop, go drinking the rest of the night/spend the rest of the night in Game Spot Versus playing the best/most dedicated competition on the planet.
Can’t wait to do it all again at Winter Tougeki.
Hearing everyone’s stories just makes me want to go that much more & realize it can actually happen.

It would be awesome if you or someone else involved in this upcoming podcast made a thread on the 3s boards so us 3s heads can stay up to date on it, ask questions, and give feed back. I am very excited for this.

Stories like this are so amazing, I couldn’t imagine being able to meet and play so many famous faces, it really makes me re-evaluate myself as a 3S player. I really need to be more active, and its hard to imagine 3s being so alive and well compared to the niche status it has here in the states. Hopefully 3SO breathes a new era of life into this game, I would like to go to some 3s tourneys here in the states to hang and level up my game. I don’t know what it is about 3s but its just a very special game.

Not really a Japan story but …I want to go to Japan hella bad!! I’ve been playing 3S since 2006 and I’ve been in a bit of a slump lately. I recently moved from the SF Bay to this town a few hours north for work and so I don’t have anyone to play now. I used to play GGPO all the time but the amount of trolls on there depresses me. I bought a Sega New Astro cab about 6 months ago and a 3rd Strike board but its kinda lonely just playing the CPU by myself. I’ve been thinking about taking it down to my grandma’s house in Cupertino and just letting people come play when I am in town. I’ve tried in vain to get into that OTHER fighting game that is so popular now but 3rd Strike is the only fighting game for me.
Recently at NorCal Regionals I brought my cab and 3S and invited people to my hotel room for after hours games. We had Kin3tix, THCHardcore and Makoto Mike, Eph, Albert_C, CPSIV, JBlair, Andry, Ramin, Crackfiend, Air, etc. etc. jammin on the cab and consoles till 6 in the morning. Actually was easy to roll the cab into the room. Hardest part was getting it out of my downstairs and into the truck. 
Yeah it was good times all around. Keeping the 3S alive in NorCal.
