For pad players: Your gamepad of choice

My Saturn PS2 pad is on the way, funny thing is I was going to buy a new one, but gamebaz wouldn’t accept paypal for purchase over $400, I ended up buying an used one from them. So I was testing my Saturn UBS Pad yesterday with MK9, it worked well with all the characters except my main Rain :frowning:

The negative edge seems worse and I also kept doing random teleports, the pad works great with SSF2 HDR tho.

Is the Dreamgear Arcade Classic that bad? I like the fact it has a simple cross-shaped d-pad and MK doesn’t really need diagonal inputs.

i generally make an effort to stay away from untested 3rd party controllers. most trouble comes from their badly designed dpads, where the pivot point and the contacts arent precise enough, where you push left or right and suddenly get a jump or crouch.

not sure what happened to my text there

Are the nubytech ps2 pads good?

Apparently, this site has some Saturn-Style USB pads for sale, not sure if they are legit or not, so buy at your own risk.

Btw, I’ve finally received my Saturn PS2 pad, it works well with SF, but not so well with MK.

^seems legit. but random colours? kinda sucks

Haha this guy uses the classic controller for wii. The d-pad is big, like the buttons, analog stick is good, IMO pretty solid I guess.

Actually those are the legit colors the Japanese version of the Sega Saturn Game pad came in.
The US version was all black.

I like the Classic Controller a lot for fighting games and general 2D games period. The thing is surprisingly comfortable. It’s no Saturn pad, but of all the easily obtainable controllers you can get today, I think the Classic Controller (especially the Classic Controller Pro) takes the cake.
