looks like you played the first match pretty good. missing the ultra was a risk, but thats zangief. no risk no reward. imagine the cheer you would have got if he had tried to attack you there. And who has not walked into several c.hp’s in a row. seriously.
for the second match… ahhh, i guess not lose the first round??? the last round was classic. did he stand there and scratch his head after that? Brutal.

I should have finished more combos, it’s like I forgot my own advice I give to other players. “Always finish your combos! Don’t go for command grab resets!”
you have to mix them in though beccause it keeps them from getting close on their terms. makes them think more about What IF i had tried to attack there, maybe i had better just keep moving backwards and keep away. they don’t know you did that on accident. mindgames
I meant when actually hitting them with an attack not while they are blocking or out of range, it’s usually better to finish combos and get knock downs UNLESS you really need the damage. Usually if I reset smarter players, I’ll go for air to airs like jump strong or jab, then as they land mix them up. Then next time around it’s easier to go for the 360.

I don’t mind giving advice but at times there are things that we can’t see ourselves as players that others can give us insite about. In this case I wanted to see if my assumptions about what I did both right and wrong were in accordance with what other people believed.
Well that’s a good point. I think you played pretty much textbook gief. The only mistakes I noticed were some slightly impatient / dodgy uses of green hand in round 1, and it looked like you went for either a grab or a meaty after an SPD, when Sagat had 2 ex and ultra stored up. Apart from that it was wicked playing man, best of luck at SBO!
And watch out for Rufus when he has meter because you know that EX Messiah is coming…

solid gief overall. What was that jumping hard punch to focus attack combo you were trying to pull in the end??!?!? dont be flashy!! just end that sucka!
You could easily punished those scissor kicks with jab spd. but it does take quick execution. Try this, i see alot of those jumping medium kick gets blocked, you can easily tick that into SPD. It’s a good mixup.
