Jake probably rigged it to keep the tension invisible on purpose. Jake doesn’t actually need to see the screen to be able to own up games. If you don’t believe me, ask him to tell you his stories about playing Mega Man on NES. If they do not make you believe beyond any shadow of a doubt that Jake is gdlk, then there is simply no hope for you.

In light of not being able to find a Pittsburgh thread on here, I’m making one to find some people. Anyway, I’m a CT player from Danbury who just transferred colleges. I’m gonna be attending Carnegie Mellon in the Oakland district of Pittsburgh, right next to the University of Pittsburgh. I’m hoping theres some arcades and people around out there so I can get my game on some.
I play a good chunk of games. MvC2, CvS2, and every Tekken (1-5DR). I’m no scrub, and I can give decent comp. I also dabble with 3s, s2t, and GGX2R, but don’t expect much there.
I mainly play arcade/stick cause I’m into the Marvel 2 crack. But I play console for CvS2 and Tekken like it’s my job. Ya’ll scrubs here or anyone an actual player? Looks like most of you are hardcore Guilty Gear peeps, I try to stay away from those gamers but hell I gotta play somthin. I saw some guy wearing a Pittsburgh Pirate’s hat at Evo East so I figure there must be a couple decent players out here.

My name is Jake, I have been here in pittsburgh for about four years now. I am currently attending the university of pittsburgh. I live about ten to fifteen minutes away from carnegie mellon (that’s fifteen walking minutes mind you). I have been dying to play some people in mvc2. I am no scrub. I play top tier, I can play rush, I can zone, I can… well sometimes, block. You will see soon enough. I also play cvs2 and tekken. I am not terrible at either. I play top tier and I know what I am doing. I play all on console and I use a tekken 5 stick. I have dc convertors for ps2 sticks as well.
The main scene here is guilty gear, which, if you are willing, we will teach you everything you need to play in tournament.
As for arcades… nope. There is one downtown, just tekken, but the arcade scene is a goner. The few that still play tekken can be found at their homes. Which you should be able to get a hold of them through zaibatsu.

Yo, where are games going down at now? Your place or Ami’s? This whole “Jake and Ami do not live in the same place” thing is completely fucking with my perception of reality.
Heres the lowdown on my situation.
I’m moving into CMU (on campus housing) Aug 19 or 20. I used to be a lot better at marvel then I am now cause my local arcade got shut down earlier this year. Surprisingly my local arcade (in Danbury) had a pretty sick setup for years, and at it’s best attracted players from NYC’s CTF, jersey, and all of CT. I’m gonna be a sophomore doing computer science, so I’ll probably be pretty busy with school, but I’d like to see if anyone is cool to play some games with. I’ve played in tournament and beaten top players in Marvel before, never placed though. My current stick I own is a shitty X-arcade that is manageable. My friend has a MAS which I’m considering buying though if there is good marvel down in PA. I play CvS2 best on stick but I’m fine on controller. Tekken I play strickly controller. If you play a hori stick for tekken then you’re probably pretty good. Tekken used to be my best game till I started killin marvel.
Marvel is my shit, I play everything. Low tier…high tier. When I play tournament I play rush-down magneto based teams. Resets, Mixups, Infinites, snap-outs, I’ll triangle dash on you all day. I dont really care for Guilty Gear as I find most of the players are too off beat for me. But I mess around with it sometimes cause a couple friends of mine play. I’m down to play the first week I’m in PA if I’m not out getting fucked up or doing orientation shit.

What top teams do you play in marvel?
I play msp, mss, scrub, matrix… I have been playing this game for about eight years. I know what I am doing. I haven’t played in about a year, but mvc2 is like a bike. I will be good comp, I promise.
As for cvs2, I play for fun. I use c groove cammy chun sagat. I can play some a groove rolento sakura and ken. I am alright in this game. I have a lot to learn, but if you are better then me, I will catch on fast.
As for tekken, I only played 5 because there was a twenty person scene here in pittsburgh when it first got released. I learned to play Brian. I have beaten some really good people in this game, but I only played it for a few months. Once DR came out, I quit.

As of right now I am supposed to start working in Pittsburgh on Monday… meaning that I should be moving back to the city sometime this weekend… the details still need to be finalized for that. 
Regardless, I’m basically 8:30 to 5:00 every day, meaning that I should be cool during the evenings to do something. I’m also off all next weekend. Someone put together something big so that Nate and I can have our match. :tup:
