FOCUS FIRE - Wong, Marn, Keits, Kbeast +MORE Dec 11/12 - $10k+ in Prizes - LIVESTREAM

was this event sponsored by BLIZZARD??? jk

Munny, Yoshi, and I are here at Howard Johnson as well. Where are the casuals happenin’ at?

Just a terrible blizzard going down! The worst I’ve seen since I can remember!

Tomorrow we will have some great games, the stream will be MUCH more defined. Watch some top matches starting around noon.

Justin Wong nearly swept everybody except Marn!

Snow update from La Crosse WI:

There are 12 inches of snow on the ground, and I had to shovel it. It sucked.

That was your snow update for La Crosse WI.

fuck…good luck to chitown peeps…i fuking crashed on my way fry…had to fuken cancel…weak shit
fuck snow n rain

Seems like the event has a pretty low attendance and the stream has yet to hit over 1k (they barely scratch 500). I wonder how the sponsors are gonna react to this. A typical community run major can get like 10k viewers on the stream with 300-400+ attendance. So this is disappointing considering the high profile sponsors for this tournament.

I gotta say…

I may have been the only one late on Saturday’s SSF4 Randoms, but I think it’s weak that it wasn’t delayed due to weather and todays SSF4 was.

Regardless it was a fun event. Too bad the weather was ass.

I was impressed by the professionalism of the Focus Fire event. It was ran like a TV show with high production values.

Someone just need to make a post on shoryuken.com main page the day of the event to remind people of the schedule plus LINK to the stream.

For example, during the Canada Cup, useful posts like these were made on the main shoryuken.com page:

http://shoryuken.com/content/canada-cup-live-stream-finals-day-results-2422/

It had stream link + schedule. NCR and SCR also had similar helpful posts, and that helped those events hit 10-14k viewers.

This week-end there was an Australian tourney called Shadowloo Showdown with Gamerbee, Tokido, Mago and some very competitive Australian players. But because the stream link wasn’t on srk many people missed out on a memorable event. Only 2k viewers saw the epic top 8.

Focus Fire is also a Major and could have benefited from a main page post.

I really liked the Green Screen, and although Okame looked like a goof ball the whole time, he stuck with it for like 9 hours. Great watch when I wasn’t doing stuff throughout the past two days.

The turnout for the shooter tournaments was actually fantastic. There were over 140 4v4 teams, so the sponsors are fine. Most of the event sponsors were at the event and could care less about the stream anyways being local companies. This doesn’t even account for all the registered players that couldn’t make it due to the blizzard. 20 plus inches of snow isn’t exactly attendance friendly. The event was highly enjoyable and mad quality. They keep it up and they’re gonna have some great events in the future.

Hey guys, thanks for all of you who came out and supported us this weekend. I had fun pushing the stream out to all of you and hopefully well have someone from Focus Fire moderating the live chat next time

Brackets, Videos and all the informations will be updated on the site soon. We are just gathering everything up at the moment.

Man, I got to meet a lot of new, interesting, and great people this weekend. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves in La Crosse, and I hope to see you all back as soon as there’s another one.

had fun… wished more ppl couldve came but stupid snow storm prevented that from happening. 1 negative thing was the brackets for ssf4. i swear i registered under wisconsin and some how i was under alabama? it happened to others too which messed up the brackets cuz we ended up playing ppl that we play with in our local scene. other than that it was good!!!
