there is no reason to do the heavy or medium version of ryu’s sidekick during a midscreen combo. the light kick version doesn’t sacrifice much damage, there’s very fast recovery (for super or combo continuation purposes) which leads us to my 3rd point.

jake, found a combo with ryu that you might be interested in. it carries the character from one side of the screen to the other, only downside is baroque is involved so you kinda need some red life to do it. once you get the enemy to the other side of the screen (depending on what assist you have) you can call your assist to keep the combo going while they’re in the corner and end it with either shinsho or fireball super, does awesome damage… you can get 85-90% if you have 4 super bars, from a midscreen combo this is amazing damage. polymar’s assist makes this awesome btw.

ryu can combo a ground string > fireball > hurricane kick super for really good damage and a knockdown. you can also DHC into polymar’s super for big damage.

polymar’s assist gives ryu (and probably everyone else) a 50/50 guessing game anywhere on the screen… it seems pretty ridiculous, we’ll see once we play again.

apparently there is nothing souki (onimusha guy) can do to a crouching megaman combo wise. his low medium attack combos with his standing jabs, but nothing combos after the crouching medium unless baroqued, obviously.
i will most likely order one of these converter things in the next week or so because of how awesome this game is.

uploaded a few new combos for ryu/polymar on there
only 20% red life was used for bbq combos and only used 5 bars maximum, so all combos are legit
also
karas might be mad good & all, but he takes chipp like damage.
also, i seriously thought i had an infinite going with polymer… but it didn’t work, i tried for like 2 hours straight. but i have a few more tricks with him now. they are douchey, so nate will most likely approve (since he approves of fighting game douchery)

so i’d end up spending like $50 total just for registration/tournaments. (sf4,tvc,sthd)
not to mention gas, food, and pitching in for hotel room fees.
