The flash ads that appear on the right below the user navigation menu overlap the submenus links in Chrome.
It may just be a chrome problem because the exact same thing happens on youtube (ads will overlap videos viewed higher than 320p).
Ninja Edit: Someone had the bright idea of setting the container for the ad to z-index: 1000000
that’s why it overlaps everything. It just needs to be set to 1 and the navigation will work perfectly.
It’s really pissing me off. It wasn’t happening with the other ads but now that stupid honda civic ad is on every banner on this site now. I think that’s a bad place to put an ad anyway, especially when the site code wasn’t designed to work around the flash ads.
this is ridiculous. earlier the ENTIRE front page was a link to the honda civic ad for me. like, i clicked on text of an article and it opened up the honda civic ad. also, my “alerts” window is totally covered by the honda civic ad. and the bar at the bottom of the site is also annoying. remember when sites just had a couple small ads? browsing the internet is like worse than tv nowadays with all the commercials
On IE9:
Issue is that clicking the ‘alerts’ option on the top right results in the drop-down menu going BEHIND the bloody ad. I can’t see my alerts anymore unless i blindly click.
It’s the stupid Civic advert as all have said above.
I recommend adblocking the ads with adblock plus or a similar extension (right click ad, move slider, click ok). Adblock plus is on firefox and chrome. You’ll be ad free.
