Fitting cthulhu board in ps3 TE?

Here’s to hoping someone has some tips.

I picked up a PS3 version TE a while back only to discover too late that it won’t work for PS2 games (shoulda checked the boards first!).

Accordingly, I’ve decided I’d like to mod it w/ a cthulhu board in order to get PS2 functionality for my old games and the extra cross platform compatibility. I’ve got a few questions:

[]Is this the best course of action to accomplish this goal (ps2 backwards compatibility)?

]Has anyone fit a cthulhu into the ps3 version TE with no problems? Most articles I’ve found are based off the 360 version.
[*]If this is a workable solution, are there any tips to know before I jump in?

Thanks for looking!

There’s plenty of room, but I don’t know how difficult it will be to install because the PS3 board is all contained under the LED section IIRC. Accessing the buttons and stick wires would be easy; I’m not sure how difficult it will be to connect the Home button; it will likely require some fine wire soldering to get to it.

wow, thanks for jumping in toodles; I appreciate the tips.

I’m guessing some of the original plastic bracing inside the case may need to be cut away?
Overall, looks pretty doable - soldering isn’t a problem
