First wave of third party Xbox One padhack options

Hi guys, a little help if you could please.

I picked up a pdp MK X (xbox version) Fightpad with the intention to install it into a stick but I have a few concerns…

My first concern is that after reading through this thread I have noticed something which doesn’t match up with what another user has posted up, so let me explain… I do not currently have an xbox1 console to even properly test the controller. I figured it would be cool installing the Microsoft xbox one controller drivers and testing it out in Joy.cpl but in x1 mode it will not show up whatsoever… It DOES however show up in Devices and Printers with an explanation mark but when I try to update the driver It’s not having any of it. I search google for the hardware ID and nothing. I asked over at pdp facebook page if x1 functionality should be working on PC and I was simply told to use it in 360 mode for the PC… The controller does however function perfectly fine in 360 mode on my pc with no problems.

I would like to try and get to the bottom of the question… should the xbox1 portion of this pad be working in Windows 7 64bit ?, and if so please tell me where I can obtain the drivers.

And so because of this concern I have not cracked the pad open yet until I know everything is properly and fully working as it should.

my other question which I might as well ask while I’m here is: From the looks of the pictures I see in the thread of the pcb, it looks like the toggle switch is just 2 wires to pull high or to pull low. Is it possible for me to rig that switch to become likened to a switch kind of similar to what an IMP is to a DPDT ?

Anyone notice weird double/triple dpad inputs while navigating the XB1 dashboard using the MKX PDP pcb? It only seems to happen on dash. Can’t replicate it in game or using it on a PC with the XB1 driver. Very odd.

It happens with the ps4 version of the pad as well. In menus, directions and buttons act as if they are being triple or double pressed.

I would manually install the Microsoft XB1 drivers
and not let Windows auto-detect and install drivers

[EDIT] I manually grabbed the xbox1 driver again from support.xbox ran the application ran a repair and tried plugging the pad in again. Now it seems to be working. I don’t know what was causing this previously because its exactly as I have done previously… over and over. LOL. weird.[/EDIT]

Also just to clarify about my latter question with what I asked about an imp style switching method it is for this pcb alone. I currently have no intentions of dual modding with another pcb at this time. I would like to be able to toggle the high / low with a button when connecting usb cable if possible please. Thanks.

Mine does this as well but since my soldering skills aren’t the best I just assumed it was something I did. I notice no ghost input errors in KI, so I just let it go because it works.

My thoughts as to that is I wonder if the pcb is registering the X/Y Axis AS WELL as the POV-hat at the same time whilst in the console dashboard for some reason… It’s a shame he have no proper controller test functionality built into dash to test… all I know is that it doesn’t seem to do this in Joy.cpl

That the D-pad and Left analog both control the in-system menu?

That is easy, some people prefer the d-pad some prefer the analog.
But of being intuitive is allowing people to use the controls that they are the most comfortable with.

Thanks, Gummo. I was just getting ready to post some additional results–basically, you cannot have the switchers wired together. They work flawlessly individually, but when together, it causes a high state mode on the Xbox PCB regardless of switch position. I guess the easiest answers would be in this order:

1. Only wire the switcher on the Xbox PCB. You’ll have 4 console functionality minus the home button when using on a PS3.

2. Instead of using a SPST switch, use a DPST switch. I imagine this would totally resolve the issue and have 100% functionality on all 4 consoles.

On measuring the voltage, sure let me get that info and post back a little later. What do you theorize is happening? Thanks again for the response, Gummo–you’re pinouts and explanations made doing this a LOT easier.

Guys, seriously need help. Ran exactly into this trouble plus one more. I’ll try to be precise and detailed as possible.

My setup is Hori real arcade pro 4 kai and pdp mkx xbox pad via imp v2. So as ERR0RMACR0 mentioned, switch works fine for ps4/3 but stuck on xb1 mode for xbox but works fine if not connected to the ps4 switch. I am not too much fussy about this as I can work around it.

My main issue is that that when in xb1/360 mode, all my buttons are active i.e. as soon as i solder a button from pdp pad to the hori pcb it makes the button active. Upon further and investigation I found out the when I put the multimeter on vcc and gnd, the multimeter beeps as if both are short/connected. I checked the pad before unscrewing it and everything was fine and still is fine, if pad is powered separately alone, everything works fine.

what do I do? I wont to make this work. Thanks in advance guys.

No joy … If I put the diodes in the right way it wont do anything, button wont activate, if I put the diode wrong way then the button is always Active.

That because a diode is a semi conductor and has a polarity.

Are they wired from the trouble PCB in question or are they wired to the button?
What is the Diodes wired to? Is the diodes are on the signal lines, ground lines ect?

I mean if I put the diode in correct way the button is like dead.

The diodes are soldered to the hori pcb. trouble pcb is pdp mkx xbx pad as it remains active when connected to hori rap4 kai.

Question, is both boards (not the buttons or joystick) wired to power and ground?

You do have a Dual-mod here, regardless how you are switching between both boards, all boards need power and ground to work.

Yes its dual mod and yes both boards are powered and grounded via imp v2.

Also if it helps: the multimeter beeps when i touch vcc and gnd on the hori rap4 kai

Start with finding out where your vcc is grounded
