First Avenger: Captain America movie

Oh, fun fact: The movie just made a revenue of 70-75 mil., which is half it’s budget. Expect it to exceed it’s budget by October, since that’s when other countries will also show the movie.

  1. True… Irony? hmmm…
  2. kinda like the first super solider I think it only affects his age, Im not sure about his abilities though. Wikipedia has awesome info but you might get lost lookin at everythin and absorbing all the knowledge
  3. I was thinkin that too… her boobs are so awesome, nice, huuuuge… fuuuck… I woulda been pissed if I were cap! WHERE THE FUCK WAS MY RESCUE! haha, or given them coordinates, lmao…
4… cool, yeah, most of the time the only use a thin layer… Wakanda coats everything with that shot.
I think for the most part… Ad is denser, but vibramium is superior in the other fields including sharpness
5… haha, Hulk doens’t count! nor does magic! lmao… Thor does!
I need to see the Hank Pym and ultron thing…

holy shit, Nando with the wit assist

I wiki’d it, and Nick Fury has like zero info, and Ultimate Origins just had a quick blurb :frowning: I still dunno how they explained the white->black Nick Fury thing…is Nick Fury just a code name like James Bond or something?

Wakanda has a fucking mountain of it. But yeah, Adamantium is just the most unbreakable metal, until Vibranium melts it. Dunno if Vibranium is sharper or anything, it just melts all other metals (ie Ultron)

well true, and even Thor had the Odinforce when he melted Wolverine into goo…but yeah Hank Pym fucked Ultrons world up (probably slapped his bitch around in celebration, right after). Yet again, it gets weird due to the different grades of adamantium/vibranium. Hell, Colossus ripped out one of Wolverines adamantium claws at one time, and stabbed somebody with it (I think it was actually Wolverine he stabbed with it lol). But first grade Adamantium has only been broken by one dude (the demon S’ym), and I think that got retconned or something. I guess it’s all according to who writes it (kinda like how Wolverine’s healing power kinda fluctuates, and sometimes he can pretty much survive retarded things)

i agree, it made me kinda sad :*)

Nick Fury being black has a lot to do with Marvel wanting to use Sam Jackson’s image for there Ultimate universe Nick Fury.

He is Sam Jackson because Mark Millar likes pop culture.

I like the little nod to Bucky Cap. As soon as I saw it the only thing running through my mind at that point was, “siiiiiiiick”

oh… Nick Fury white in regular time
Black In ULTIMATE universe

Nothing really crazy but since they are different universes, they could do it

Kinda like the Lex luthor thing…

There’s a black Lex? Also I was wondering if Sharon Carter might show up in the Avengers movie given Steve’s relationship with Peggy.

Yeah she’s in it. Allegedly Steve and her have a relationship of sorts mainly with him just venting to her about Peggy.

avengers cap pic. i fucking love it

wait…black lex? what is he…lex from the animated series lol.

MOAR PIX

i want to lick that shield

I know this is petty but those blue imprints on the gloves are killing me. And they couldn’t make that zipper on the chest red? Otherwise, definitely looks more modern (materials and whatnot) compared to 1940’s Cap. Also I’m hyped for anything that happens in regards to a resolution w/ Peggy Carter, Sharon Carter, Bucky becoming Winter Soldier. Didn’t the actor get a 3-part deal in his contract? I know I read about that sometime ago…

I thought it was Peggy Charter, Sharon’s aunt that Cap fell in love with in WWII. Cuz Cap in the comics taps BOTH asses.

Movie was pretty good. Nothing on the level of “awe-inducing” like other recent superhero movies have been, but laid the groundwork nicely for the Avengers film.

I don’t think Captain America needed to be awe-inducing in the first place. Captain America always had that old school feel to it even when reading the comic and especially with this movie. It keeps it in the realm of realism and he was always someone who you could identify with.

This is wrong, yeah kinda predictible that the dude with a James Bond avatar is the one to point that out, but its still wrong, dunno about Nick Fury but James Bond is a single character created by Ian Fleming and portrayed by a buttload of actors through 50 years of cinematic history.

I disagree. Captain America, at the least the film that I watched, was about the further thing from “heightened reality”. Batman Begins is a good example of a movie that’s grounded in reality. Captain America: The First Avenger is not. I was expecting a bit more from it, but it played it safe the whole way, and setup The Avengers nicely. I got the sense that this was The First Avenger’s primary goal, then being a good standalone film was secondary.

What more did you expect out of it? I don’t think its a bad thing for a movie to play it safe. Sometimes its better to keep things simple instead of going crazy with it.
