Finding ways to improve

Just about 5 or 6 months ago I started to get into fighting games after watching streams and being encouraged to play by some friends. I picked up AE initially, and had a great training partner who was miles above me in skill level, but taught me the fundamentals of the game as well as you can for it being such an abstract topic. I got to a point where I could beat people player for the first time, or people with about a months worth of work in, but anymore than that and I was getting bodied pretty hard. I know it won’t be a smooth transition from scrub to competent player in just a few months, but I feel like I sure be better at this point. I have moved on from AE to SFxT because I grew up mashing buttons on Tekken 3 and I like to be able to play in a familiar environment with the characters I grew up with.

I am having issues pick up this game, and no one to really help me correct my mistakes or tell me what to focus on improving. I know I struggle dealing with constant jumping because my anti-air reactions are always late, even more so with special anti-airs. I struggle to deal with non-stop cross-up -> jab, cross-up -> jab pressure, and I find myself unable to get any sort of damage in on my opponent because my footsies are really undeveloped.

I am looking for people to play with who can help me better understand these areas of the game and teach me through example the correct way to deal with these issues. I play Ryu/Ken+Nina if that matters at all.

You can find me on PSN at Gonads_N_Strife, or feel free to just direct message me on here or something.
Spend a week where you don’t care so much about winning or losing, but nailing every jump in you can. Afterwards, start worrying about winning again.
