Finally a 2nd patch for marvel on XBL

Capcom just sent out word yesterday that they are working on it (March 31).

    You asked for it, and you're gonna get it! Capcom with backbone is officially in the works for a 2nd patch for the hit game, Marvel vs Capcom 2. Many of you hardcore gamers have complained even after the first patch was released. It seems as though there are issues that are still giving the "real" gamers some problems. Of course, the patch will take some time and estimated to arrive early June and will be released both on the XBL and PSN. 
    We didn't realize many of minor details that are crucial for the game; the biggest complaint being the recovery time on the low attack moves with all the characters. As usual, we want to thank the Marvel vs Capcom community for bringing this to our attention. Capcom was aware that the word on the street was the "new generation" consoles are not perfect compared the classic arcade version or the Dreamcast version so they want to give the players the best experience possible. Once again, just as the previous patch, we called in Preppy and Magnetro to fill us in on all the details that were wrong with the game that players needed a patch for. They sat and worked extensively trying to hammer out all the details on this one.

Capcom wants this to be final patch to make the game perfect so they want to get every minor detail fixed once and for all. Not only are the gameplay problems going to be fixed, but the connection issues that many of the XBL players were having also. A dream come true for you Marvel vs Capcom players? We thought so. Here are the problems that were found that is to be addressed and fixed.

**Both Platforms: **

Low attack moves (light punch and light kick) will have a slower recovery time. A few problems that this bug was causing was linking to low attacks that were “unlinkable” in the arcade version.

Storm’s Lightning attack. It seems that some opponents were able to crouch right under this move. They are making sure that doesn’t happen anymore!

Blackheart’s demons. Apparently, the hit stun on the demons would stay on the character while other demons were suppose to make them disappear. That problem will now disappear.

X-box 360:

The dreaded freeze up in lobbies. They are fixing connection issues that lock you in a room one the other player leaves.

Screen adjustments will now be fixed. It seems some combos work now that don’t work in the arcade version because of the invisible wall. The gameplay is smaller on the 360 and will be expanded so it is similar to the arcade.

Unfortunately, their is still some problems that are out of our hands and won’t be fixed. First, the glitched characters that some of you may encounter such as the wrong character face showing in the versus screen and then the game freezing up and crashing once that character comes in. That issue seems to be a “player connection” issue. The other BIG problem people have been complaining about is that on the PSN, people can quit mid-match and they will not get a loss. As we have explained this before, this is a Playstation Network issue and not an issue that can be resolved with a patch.

Once again, this patch should be landing around the beginning of June so be on the lookout! I hope that we can finally resolve these problems and have an arcade-perfect version of the hit game, “Marvel vs Capcom 2”!

About time! Maybe this patch will hit before evo and we can have a good evo this year. I can’t wait! Magneto’s rom should be back to normal.

This sounds like good news… although I’m not affected by this(the changes) yet because I fucking suck at this game…

EDIT: Sounds too convincing to be an april fools joke and if so it is a very cruel one…

Hey, there is a patch coming out on xbl and psn to make this game more arcade perfect, fixing all of the problems that people have been complaining about… SIKE!! April Fools bitch…

I will be SUPER happy when they fix the freeze glitches. I haven’t been in a player room for like a week, because I always get thrown out the second its my turn…

But yeah I’m a little scared at how the altering of the light moves will affect my gameplay… I learnt everything on the 360 so I just hope I won’t have to relearn to much.

i just now saw this but is it for real? the link leads to nothing as others have said. It would be great if this really happened.

I think the thing where storms LA goes over crouching characters has to do with characters sprites crouching lower than they did before, and not the LA itself. I say this because this also happens with colossus s.hk launcher. It will whiff on some crouching characters now where in arcade/dc it would hit them.
