I was your first match, and I also played my first match in losers on the same TV (station 10). Thinking about it now I can’t really say if there was lag, because for most things (throw breaking, gen’s links between stances, Gekirou etc) I was able to do them no problem.
But what’s done is done, I watched most of your matches and your Sakura is solid. I still want to play your Gen though
Kensou/Liston was a HUGE highlight this year. I think everybody that was taping should collaborate so we could have one vid with all the different angles/reactions.

BEST FINAL ROUND EVER! If you weren’t there…you missed the hell out.
Not only was this the best final round ever…it was one of the craziest weekends of my life. The MD/VA people know what I’m talking about. We’re all better cuz of this tournament though and I can’t wait for next year. Kensou vs. Liston was absolutely the best and worst match I’ve ever seen in my life. I literally fell off my chair watching it go down. Gave people mad high fives and next thing I know I was falling on the floor. :lol: Gootecks vs. Justin was the best SFIV match I’ve ever seen. Period. Both of them are just so damned GOOOD!!!
I wanna start off to address the laggy TV situation. I already knew the Samsung TV in the back was lagging like hell. For people who don’t play SF very seriously or understand serious competitive play…yeah they had no idea there was lag. For anyone who does…you could tell there was lag on the character select screen. That’s BAD lag. The Vizio TV still seemed to have some noticeable lag but it was a bit less. It was still noticeable. At least it looked really nice.
I realize now that I should have at least run up to one of the tournament directors to explain the laggy tv situation but I was just assuming they were saving those TV’s simply for casuals. When the tourney started running I was too busy having fun so I didn’t remember to call out the laggy tv issue. I know CRT’s don’t lag so I just made sure to play on CRT tv’s. The only people who got screwed with a laggy TV probably didn’t know they were being screwed in the first place.
Now back to the fun…SFIV had MAD people. Kensou is reassured as my favorite US SFIV player after this event. Gootecks is a real close second but Viper is too damn fun to watch. HP TK Feints for the win. Eric V is my new favorite DC metro player. So FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! The legend is back.
I’ll end by saying SFIV has done SOOOO much for the fighting game scene and Final Round is a true testament to that. This Final Round will probably be the last Final Round ever…until next year when it’s TWICE as BIG! Thanks to all the people that run the event tirelessly every year. Mad respect for all of you guys even if I seem to annoy the hell out of you guys sometimes. Can’t wait for the next one.
