first off, thanks to all the organizers…they put in a lot of effort.
The SF4 tourney ended well, but honestly had some issues. Im not complaining…just being honest. I think FR is almost a major, so i hope they take this as CONSTRUCTIVE criticism…to make it better in the future
Three things:

2 or 3 TVs had noticeable lag…that has to be tested…especially in a game that has 0-1 frame lnks.

Both days started way late. Im not sure what the reason was…i know sunday was because a lot of players decided to not show up. But saturday started at almost 5PM…thats 4 hours late for the biggest SF draw ive seen in a long long time.

i dont know if this bothered people, but justin wong showed up around 1am sunday morning…and got to play a winners bracket match. Meanwhile, people were getting disqualified left and right for not being at their match within 5 minutes. I personally think no one should get preferential treatment. At first, they said they were going to drop him into the loser’s bracket…but then later backed off of that.
Anyway, im not trying to start beef. I think FR is a must-go-to event. The crowds are all hype as hell, they choose great games to compete in, and the tournament organizers seem to really care about the community/events. Also, the people running SF4 mustve wanted to kill people…250ish people and NO ONE was showing up for their matches. It mustve been hell to run that kind of event…but they kept their cool and ran one of the best tournaments in quite a while. good stuff guys.
NOW…this has to be said…SF4 finals were off the fkn chain!! JWong was on-point and gootecks is the truth. The ending of the 6th game was classic. Gootecks vs. Joe was straight gold too…starting off with a double KO to end the first game.
Also, FKN KENSOU!!! Haha that match was the best ever. Homeboy from NY straight up did ultra and got up to celebrate with his crew. Meanwhile his ultra whiffed and kensou jumped back on his controller to finish him off while he celebrated. Talk about a mistake of a lifetime. No money match wouldve changed that

I lost my first match on one of those TV’s. I couldn’t block crossups, I missed links, I missed ultra combo, my anti-airs were getting stuffed… It was really frustrating for me cause I thought I was just messing up.
Anyway, I’ll do an essay of shoutouts tomorrow, when I finally get a good nights sleep.
I have a few issues with what you’re saying.
First, I helped run Street Fighter 4. Me and Kyah ran the god damn FUCK outta that bracket, trying to be as fair as possible to everybody. Not ONE person talked to me about lag, or said they had issue with a certain TV so we could move them and get them on a TV they were comfortable with playing on. So if we don’t know it’s an issue, then we can’t fix it. A lot of mother fuckers will blame shit AFTER they lose. We can’t fix that shit. So speak up, or don’t complain. It’s really that simple.
Second, almost a major? Don’t be stupid.
Third, mother fuckers started getting DQ’d on sunday. We DQ’d two people on saturday. Two. And we had a 256 person bracket that was basically full. We tried to be as lenient as possible because of how many people were playing, the fact that other folks were playing in other tournaments, and because we actually care about the community. We don’t want you paying all this money to come to atlanta, just to get DQ’d cause you went to get something to eat, or went to your hotel room to use the bathroom. I’m really sorry if you have a problem with that. We worked our mother fucking asses off to make sure people had a good time.
We also finished SF4 in the amount of time we hoped to. I’m very fucking proud of that. Very fucking proud. If you can do better, then put up the money to do it. But please, don’t question the shit we did to get everything done to the best of our ability. I didn’t even get to watch the tournaments I was running. We were that busy.If there was an issue, we can’t fix it if we don’t know about it. You and I spoke a few times between matches, and you didn’t say anything about any issues. Realistically, how could Kyah or myself fix anything if you folks, the people playing the games, don’t tell us anything?

I def. had a good time at FR. This was my first time attending and it was awesome, but after my first round my stick crapped out on me. Luckily Joe was nice enough to let me play with his, but on my third round it kept saying controller was disconnected so that was pretty much the end for me…I had fun nonetheless.
