Final Round '09

Does anyone here know anything about a tournament called “Final Round”? I was playing Smash Brawl against a couple of people in my dorm building, and someone mentioned it and referred to it as, “The East Coast version of Evo,” but I’ve never heard anything about it, which is odd considering that I live in the Atlanta area.

I did a little research and came across this really shitty website. I’d like to go since it isn’t that far away, but I’m not sure what to expect. There was also no contact or location information on the website, so I’d have no idea how to find it.

Has anyone ever been?

It’s amazing, go if you can.

Thanks for the link. I did a search for threads already created, but it’s kind of hard to find one specific instance of “final round” on a fighting game website, y’know?

I’m cosigning on this along with Kryian. I went for the first time last year and it was great. Very nice matches in a multitude of games.

that website is what we call CRUNK!

FR BABY!!

LAWL the FR website is too real! Yea Final round is the Southeast’s major, U can look at the Upcoming Tournaments thread and read up on how it goes down…Ive been goin since FR7 and every year its been pretty solid…

But yea its usually in the Buford Area, but also u prob wouldnt find it if u werent looking for a tourney :stuck_out_tongue:

Welcome,

Smash is not a real fighting game, it’s a party game. So when you go to final round be peparedto realize that the hype will be on the real fighting games sf4,mvc2,3s, ggxx, hd remix, etc…

I don’t play Smash like I would play in a tournament, and I hate it when people do. Playing with no items on at Final Destination a million times is boring. The randomization is what makes it fun, and that’s why I break it out with my friends. I never said that’s the game I wanted to play. When I found out about “wave dashing” in Melee, I didn’t care. When I found out about kara throws in Third Strike, I took the time to get it down right. I know there’s a difference.

 to you soldier. what part of atlanta you live in and why dont you ever post in the GA thread? anyways final round is off the chain i have met many a cool people from that tourney alone.

Ha, I just joined this website and I didn’t even know there was a GA thread. To be honest, I’m a little afraid to start the whole tournament scene because I’m in the process of learning to play with a stick since my ability to do certain motions has started to seem a bit restricted with a pad, and I lose a lot more than before because I’m not quite used to it yet.

I live in Fairburn, but most of my time is spent in my dorm in Carrollton at UWG. I’ll definitely check the GA thread out.

everyone has to start somewhere

I strongly, strongly urge you to go to Final Round, it’s one of the best majors of the year, if not the best. I guarantee it being worth your while.

With these recommendations, I will definitely check it out. It seems a bit… on the expensive side.

Is it strictly a tournament thing, or are there games set up for free play? Will I be waiting very long? That’s one of the few things I didn’t like about Anime Weekend Atlanta… EVERYONE wanted a piece of CvS2, and there was only one machines set up for it.

Check the tournament forum for your answer

Well that’s what tournaments are for man, to get your casuals in before, during, and after the tournament. If you want to play CvS2 you’ll get pleeeeeeeeenty of it at FR.

It’s a really huge thread to try and just look through for certain information, and no one’s replying to me there so I went ahead and asked here since I already made the thread…

Final Round is indeed godlike. But ou shouldask your question in the tournament forum. Eventually you question will get answered, onsiderng the tourney is still 5 months away.
