FF is part of the SF storyline. Considering on many ocassions Udon has listened to the fans I’m curious on how everyone else thinks it should be handled. This doesn’t mean that this is what they’ll do, but it could give Udon an idea where the fans stand.
I think it should be a mini series since final fight is 3 games and a fighthing game.I think it should be 4 issue to tell of the story of all 4 games.Great poll man.
Mini-series, or, worst-case-scenario, a back-up serial.
I think making it part of the SF comic directly would only hurt both series. There are already too many characters in SF (and were only in issue 8!!!), and more keep appearing every issue.
I’d like a mini-series, but not sure how business-feasible either one would be. Still, truth be told, even in the Alpha series, Final Fight characters really only criss-cross with SF characters VERY LOOSELY and very briefly. If memory servers me correctly, Sodom and Rolento and Guy and Cody and Maki’s storylines in both SFZ2 and SFZ3 center around each other, when generally no SFer having a major role in them or a Final Fight character having a major role in an SFer’s storyline (the exception being Guy’s side-character participation in Rose’s storyline, but even that is something that really doesn’t have to be in the comic if the chance for it isn’t past, already).
As it is, Final Fight might seem rather… out of place in the SF comic and hard to intertwine with the current plot going on, thanks to that.
Not very interested in Final Fight. I’d prolly end up getting a mini series if UDON released it, but I definitely don’t want it to be part of the SF series.
A One Shot or a Mini Sereis. It’s really hard making a story out of a Side Scroller, you have to add lots of things that didn’t happen because you can’t have people beating other people up every single issue continuosly. You’d have to invent many seperate Plots like “Rolento holding up a bank” and so forth. It can be done, it’s really hard, especially with how extremely Storyline Limited FF is. So, a one shot or a Mini Series covering part one would be OK.
Text on the backside of Jap. FF2’s box cover:
After the last battle, it seemed as if peace had finally returned to Metro City.
One day, Haggar suddenly got a call from the remnants of the Mad Gear.
They announced their plan for world conquest and told Haggar that they’re on the move again.
The return of Mayor Haggar.
Maki, daughter of Genryusai.
The street fighter, Carlos Miyamoto.
The desperate struggle unfolds and explodes once again.
Text from Jap. FF2 instruction booklet
Haggar, Cody, and Guy had defeated Belger, boss of the Mad Gear.
Peace returned to Metro City.
Jessica and Cody went traveling, while Guy resumed training out of town.
However, Mad Gear hadn’t been completely destroyed.
Mad Gear intends on getting revenge on Haggar, Cody, and Guy. They secretly stalk/follow/pursue Genryusai, Guy’s teacher.
Genryusai and his daughter Rena were kidnapped by the Mad Gear.
Rena is Guy’s fiance.
Two days later, Haggar received a call from Maki, Rena’s younger sister…
I got that from the Box cover & instruction booklet for the Jap. version. For some reason, I was under the impression that there was more to FF2’s storyline/plot than this. I never payed much attention to FF2’s storyline and I figured that this was only the gist of it . You can pretty much sum up it’s storyline in 2 sentences.
Wow.
Two thoughts:
-
In the Alpha series, Guy’s master’s name is Zeku. Silly Capcom can’t keep things straight. Then again, it’s not like FF2’s storyline is well thought out in the first place. Heck, Capcom probably forgot about this game until CvS2…
-
Guy’s fiance gets kidnapped and Maki goes after her? Where’s Guy? Is he so caught up in his training that he fails to notice his fiance has been kidnapped? What a selfish bastard. Then again, he isn’t married in the Alpha series…
Guy’s true love is Rose. They are both having mad sex up in heaven, LOL!
I don’t think FFR is official at this point, but in his ending Guy had to run away to train to get the “Zombie Forces” out of him, so he chose to stay away because if he stuck around and didn’t perform the training, he’d be all Resedent Evil like in FF2 and couldn’t help save his girlfriend anyways…
The US SF Cartoon had a really good episode (and I think one of their only good episodes…) where Ryu and Ken were in Metro City and helped Guy and Cody rescue Jessica. Something like that episode minus Ryu and Ken, plus a lot more FF characters would make a good comic. I just can’t see how you can make a comic exactly like a Side Scroller. For example, most of the Megaman(Rockman) Mangas have Megaman blowing away the villains with like one shot… so, some sort of adaptation like that SF Episode would be nice.
Indeed. What’s strange is that Final Fight 3 and SFA1 were released during the same year (1995), but Capcom still managed to completely forget 'bout FF3, storyline-wise. Plus, both games included Guy. It’s funny how Capcom stopped caring about the Final Fight storyline after Final Fight 1 (w/ the exception of Maki). I was surprised to see Maki and Carlos on the cover of Capcom Design Works.
Speaking of Zeku, perhaps Udoneko should ask Capcom why Guy has 2 different masters and where Final Fight 2 & 3 fit into SF’s chronology/timeline.
I’m assuming that Guy wasn’t aware of the kidnapping 'cuz he was travelling all over the world, training. Maki probably wasn’t able to find and contact him because he was constantly moving. However, if that was the case, then how was Rena able to send Guy a letter in the ending?? Hmph…maybe it’s easier to just say Guy’s an asshole.
Taken from the Final Fight 3 (Jap) instruction booklet:
Metro City, several years after the annihilation of the Mad Gear Gang.
The city had regained peace after the collapse of the evil organization.
However, the city is gradually losing it’s power over criminal activity and is steadily becoming disorderly.
The citizens have grown nervous/scared ever since The Skull Cross Gang (Mad Gear’s former subsystem) appeared and rose to power.
Again, insecurity and fear were budding in the city…
It was during this time that Guy who had finished years of training visited the office of Mike Haggar, who’s continuing his job as mayor of Metro City.
The 2 old friends get reacquainted.
However, the moment of reopening joy was broken when Special Crimes Unit officer Lucia entered the room with bad news.
She says that the city police department and the detention center have been attacked by a mysterious group.
After receiving the notice, Haggar was sure that a complete of the Skull Cross Gang invasion had commenced, and hastened to the scene with Guy and Lucia.
It was then that a mysterious man stopped Haggar and the others, who were in a hurry.
He says he wants to aid them in the fight against the Skull Cross gang.
Is he a friend or foe?
That battle for the streets has begun!
The fate of Metro City was entrusted to the fists of 4 fighters!
AGAIN, I figured there was more to FF3’s plot than this. Udon would have develop the story a lot more in order to make it decent.
i think udon should make a final fight comic series so people could understand the story more.
On this Link I broke down what happened in the American Street Fighter Cartoon episode that featured Final Fight. In case you never saw the episode, you can check my post to see what went down.

Dean is q. lol
Of course, one thing to remember is, not only has Capcom forgotten about FF3, but most of us are trying to as well. God damn that game sucked.
Perhaps FF3 got put where FF Revenge did. The Vault.
That’s the place where everything that Capcom has ever said, then regretted went.
The original US boxart for Mega Man? In The Vault.
Poison’s male genitalia? In The Vault.
Sagat being “evil”? In The Vault.
The Street Fighter movie with Van Damme? Well, they were too late to save (us from) that one…
Actually, that one’s not in the vault so much as just largely irrelevant these days (not like many opportunities or needs exist for Capcom to use it, after all). Poison isn’t exactly the most major character in the world.
Yet interestingly enough, it is probably one of the most discussed topics on the internet. :trannie
…indeed.
If Udon does a Final Fight mini series they should do Final Fihgt one first and then if they are going to do Final Fight 2 and 3 later release them as different story arcs, so people that think final fight 2 and 3 are feces don’t have their character’s polluting the original Final Fight plot.
And have it all drawn by one artist for Pete’s sake.
Well, obviously. Each game revolves around a different story. It would be stupid to combine them.
Yeah that would be appreciated.
